JOB MISSION: As a Footwear Technical Designer you will be working as part of the Engineering, Design and Development teams on footwear products. In this role, you will be challenged to take athlete data and assist the design teams in visualizing concepts using 3D modelling abilities.  You will also be realizing these concepts through sample creation and product development in conjunction with our Asia based teams.  You will need project management skills to manage timelines and engineering experience to validate the samples you have created.  The role also requires excellent communication skills to keep the teams up to date on project progress.  MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: • Proficient in both 2D and 3D CAD technology and is able to create revisions and new CAD drawings independently • Programming using Rhino/Grasshopper based on athlete data • Creates unique design options to support design projects and platforms • Works with Asia on 2D and 3D design files to ensure that direction is executed • Basic knowledge of shoe manufacturing, mold making and materials • Evaluates and measures molded samples to validate that the properties and performance are meeting the target • Requests the physical testing of engineered components and maintains product specifications and tech packages • Demonstrates understanding of material testing, physical tests, fit and wear tests and how and when to apply them to ensure that the products they are responsible for satisfy the consumer • Engagement with Wear Test team to monitor and evaluate tested samples • Demonstrates a creative approach to problem solving • Continually seeks opportunities for process improvement • Develops project plans and ensures deadlines set by team are met • Effective collaborator who works well with teams of diverse background • Displays courteous and effective written and oral communication skills; communicates ideas clearly and concisely REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Design, Architecture or Computer Graphics.  • Min 1 year technical CAD training or equivalent experience • Footwear CAD experience preferred (CAD Designer) • Comfortable with 3D software modeling packages, Rhino and Grasshopper preferred Our Benefits:Our products are only as good as the people we hire, so we make sure to hire the best and treat them accordingly.
