Join New Balance and declare your independence. ?JOB MISSION Responsible to manage, coach, develop, and coordinate activities for direct reports. A highly tactical and visible role in identifying, investigating and implementing ways to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency in the value stream. Uses Lean expertise in the development of new ideas and/or initiatives and actively coaches and develops direct reports in Lean concepts. Ability to make critical strategic business decisions relating to the goals and objectives of the factory and to domestic manufacturing. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES • Manage the manufacturing process with thorough planning of personnel, equipment, materials, and other critical resources. • Ensure the Value streams/teams support effective implementation of standard work and built-in-quality. Consistently analyzes takt time, cycle time and balance charts accordingly while utilizing problem solving tools to support an environment focused on continuous improvement. • Trains, develops, recognizes and manages associates; preparing qualified candidates for personal succession. • Provides clear, consistent feedback, provides coaching and development opportunities. Prior experience providing performance appraisals is a plus. • Leads process improvement and team development activities by overseeing the implementation of Lean tools and their application. • Coaches team leaders to sustain Visual Signals accurately on an hourly/daily basis.Coaches Team Leaders to analyze production charts and initiate problem-solving activities as needed. • Supports a world class manufacturing environment in which all associates have a framework of operating systems - 5S, Kanban, Standard Work, based on TPS methodology that guide work functions, actions and initiatives. • Heavily involved in TPM decisions to support the optimization of manufacturing equipment. • Maintains an organized and safe work environment utilizing the 5S program, safety audits and guidelines and understands basic OSHA requirements.  Promotes wellness programs including ergonomics exercise program, Job Coaching and personal health initiatives.  • Monitors and manages attendance and overtime of associates through the daily updating/processing of Workday (payroll system). REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS • Requires high school diploma and 3 to 5 years of leading people and teams to high performance. College degree preferred. • Demonstrates a passion for being on the production floor front lines and tackling challenges in an assertive and collaborative spirt. • Able to effectively prioritize, multi task and communicate both verbally and in writing. • Understands and believes in New Balance Core Values. • Proven ability to think critically and objectively. • PC skills including Excel, Word and Outlook. • Experience in a made-to-order manufacturing environment is a plus. • A commitment to learn and practice TPS principles and all NB Lean programs preferable.
