The Outdoor Recreation Group, based in Los Angeles, CA, is in search of a Product and Material Specialist.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Generate product technical packages and design drawing in Adobe Illustrator. Perform quality control of product and materials samples and bulk production. Track and document the toxicity compliance of bulk materials.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Facilitates Product Development by:
- Creation and dissemination of technical information and documentation necessary for product development.
- Initiates, tracks, monitors the progress of product development.
- Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely execution of product development.
• Responsible for distributing Work in Process file to Los Angeles Headquarters and China Quality Assurance team.
• Manage production process by:
- Generating technical packages for a new product.
- Communicating on a daily basis with vendors via email, Skype and/or telephone in order to ensure proper execution of purchase orders and to ensure product fulfills customers’ expectations and requirements.
- Tracks and maintains raw materials submission logs to ensure quality and color meets standards.
- Ensure all materials and product testing is executed according to customer and regulation requirements prior to shipment of product.
• Keeps and maintain Fabric Toxicity spreadsheet for to ensure all fabric toxicity testing reports on file are up to date and valid for all purchase orders.
• Communicate with Nominated Fabric Suppliers regarding:
- Current fabric order delivery dates and monitoring of TORG orders.
- Pricing quotation sheets for Sourcing department.
- Toxicity testing for production fabric.
- Place estimated orders for large programs such as Wal*Mart and Academy Game Winner.
• Prepare and dispatch courier packages.
• Collect, review and document receipt of China Quality Assurance expense reports. Provides to Accounting department for payment arrangements.
