General Summary

O’Neill is looking for a Designer for our women’s line. We are seeking an individual who will work well in a fast-paced environment, has a positive attitude, is quality driven and pays close attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate well with all departments, including Sourcing/Development, Merchandising, Sales, and Marketing.
Essential Job Functions

•Responsible for design and development of a portion of the women's sportswear line.
•Responsible for creating and maintaining all cads, tech sketches, boms, and tech packs
•Must have strong organizational skills
•Must have ability to create and manipulate stripe, plaid and illustrator texture fills
•Must be proficient in executing complete tech packs in Illustrator format
•Involvement in women's processes including: fittings, reviewing strike-offs, comments to sourcing, vendor follow-up, and handovers to production, and sourcing
•Able to communicate clear ideas and know who our customer is through research and shopping
•Must be able to analyze market trends and apply to specified categories responsible for
•Create new and improved fabrications pertaining to the appropriate categories
•Must have strong presentation skills
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Proficient on Mac platform specifically with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
• Strong understanding of apparel design and garment construction
• Strong knowledge in fabric and wash development
•Ability to work as a team player and take direction
•Strong leadership skills
•Strong attention to detail
•Strong eye for trend and color
•Highly organized
•Strong presentation skills
•Able to multi- task and prioritize workload
•Knowledge of PLM Lectra is a plus
Required Education and Experience

•5+ years of design & product development experience
•AA or BFA in fashion focused Design Degree a plus.

Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to type and use technical sources.
