General Summary

The Emerging Brands Division is expanding and looking for a highly motivated Graphic Designer. The candidate will be responsible for creating graphics for the printables program for all brands under the Emerging Brands Division, which currently consists of Hang Ten, a heritage surf brand, and Voyager, a start-up outdoor apparel brand.

Essential Job Functions

•Design graphics for Men’s and Women’s tee’s and fleece that are consistent with each brand’s DNA
•Responsible for tech packs, pitch sheets, art sizing, BOM’s/PLM, and strike off comment reviews with cross functional team members.
•Create visual Cads as needed for Sales team.
•Create detailed artwork call outs with specifications on print technique, color swatches, etc.
•Undertake market research and analysis using key accounts, media, shopping, internet, travel, etc. to establish concept, color & textile concepts for seasonal designs.
•Develop assortments in partnership with Art Director, Director of Emerging Brands, Designers and seasonal merchandising line plans.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

•Must be highly proficient in latest Illustrator & Photoshop.
•Have a professional portfolio of completed graphics/prints with a diverse range in aesthetic from vintage, to classic, to contemporary to modern.
•Drawing or painting skills preferred.
•Ability to create original textile graphic prints for apparel and graphic tees.
•Knowledge of screen printing and digital printing procedures & process preferred.
•Detail oriented, organized & self starter.
•Positive attitude/team work ethic.
•Task oriented with the strong ability to prioritize and balance multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
•Problem Solving- Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Works well in group problem solving situations.
•Effective Communication- Understands the importance of direct communication and effectively communicates in a consistent, professional manner (scheduled meetings/email inclusions/diligent follow-through
Required Education and Experience

• 3+ years’ work experience required
• Graphic design experience in the Action Sports Industry a plus.
Physical Requirements

Seeing: Must be able to see well enough to read reports.
Hearing: Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with customers, vendors and employees.
Standing/Walking: Must be able to move about company building.
Climbing/Stooping/Kneeling: Must be able to stoop or kneel to pick up products.
Lifting/Pulling/Pushing: Must be able to lift up to 10 pounds.
Fingering/Grasping/Feeling: Must be able to type and use technical sources.
