About the job
James Perse is currently hiring a Merchandise Allocator who will be responsible for assisting the Merchandise Planning Manager in the distribution of product to the company’s global retail channels (online, retail stores, outlets, sample sales). The Allocator will continually monitor performance of assigned classifications to ensure inventory levels, assortments, quantities, and sizes are appropriate to achieve sales and profitability objectives.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with Merchandising and Planning teams to create and implement allocation strategies.
- Support and execute allocation strategies for product in accordance with financial plans, store attributes, and inventory turn objectives.
- Analyze historical data and current trends on a weekly basis to identify stock opportunities for stores. Call out risks/opportunities to sales and profitability at all levels of the business.
- Replenish Core styles on a weekly basis ensuring that stores have the inventory needed to achieve optimal sales.
- Coordinate with Planning partners to manage bulk inventory by calling out risks and opportunities.
- Evaluate and recap Best Sellers for basic workload targets.
- Assist in store transfers to fulfill stock needs.
- Maintain purchase order tracking and accuracy.
- Partner with customer service and distribution center to ensure proper flow of goods to all locations.
- Analyze size selling and apply to seasonal buys and chase orders.
REQUIRED SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
SKILLS / COMPETENCIES
- Knowledge of store allocation philosophies and methodology
- Highly proficient in Excel, MS Office, and other relevant retail applications
- Knowledge of JE Allocation & Replenishment Software, Full Circle, Retail-Pro, and or QlikView is a plus
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment
- Strong analytical skills and a working knowledge of retail math
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects
- Organized with an exacting attention to detail
WORK EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years prior experience in Retail Allocation
- Retail industry experience a must
EDUCATION
- BA degree or equivalent experience
