We havean exciting opportunity for a full-timeManufacturingCost Accountant to join our Madison, WI team!
TheManufacturing Cost Accountantis responsible for maintaining standard costs, preparing and analyzing schedules for inventory, management, and variance reporting for a manufacturing and distribution facility.Responsible for supporting the monthly Financial Closing process of a multi-company, multi-country, multi-currency environment in a fully integrated SAP ERP system. Assist business owners of the financial accounting, FP&A, and other functions of Dorel Sports as necessary.
Below are some (but not all) of the key responsibilities of the role: Supports Operations by developing and maintaining standard costs and PO conditions in SAP allowing for accurate analysis, cost recognition, and valuation of inventory focusing on manufacturing operations.
Evaluate/review multi-level BOM and routings to ensure correctness and completeness.
Analyze changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods to determine effects on cost.
Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs, including scrap and shrinkage.
Recommend cost-saving options.
Assists with gathering information for internal and external audits.
Prepares and enters journal vouchers in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
Perform ongoing reconciliations of various cost reports against software systems to ensure accuracy.
Provides month-end reporting to ensure financials are properly stated.
Assists with monthly and quarterly financial reporting, adhering to schedules and deadlines.
Contributes to the success of Dorel Sports by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting
Knowledge of finance and accounting principles
Strong cost systems background
Experience working with engineering and manufacturing personnel on the development and analysis of cost standards.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Word; proficient in PowerPoint and Outlook
Team player with good analytical problem-solving, plus excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must possess good interpersonal/relationship skills must cooperate and communicate effectively with co-workers and outside contacts
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
Experience with SAP and IFRS is highly preferred
Experience working in an Accounting environment with a focus on information systems and financial applications
This position may travel 10% or less, to conduct inventory testing, where applicable at US locations.
