JOB SUMMARY: Facilitate development and commercialization of bicycles manufactured in China, Taiwan, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Focus on frame manufacturing and ebike system development. Service CSG Design Engineering, Color & Graphics, Industrial Design, and Product Management teams by traveling and working directly with key factories and suppliers.
PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Based in Taichung, Taiwan with assigned factories in China, Taiwan, Cambodia, and Vietnam. Reports directly to the Engineering Supervisor - Asia.
MANUFACTURING RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaboration with Design Engineer / Industrial Design teams globally to develop industry leading designs within CSG's manufacturing supply chain in Asia.
Act as the liaison between Design Engineering and supplier.
Work with Design Engineer and suppliers to get final/approved specifications, drawings, and renderings.
Assist Design Engineering to achieve price targets with manufacturing method research and recommendations.
Review and give feedback to Design Engineer on frame, fork, and components designs for Design for Manufacturing and Assembly; including tolerance analysis and GD&T.
Facilitate design package hand-off meetings with suppliers.
Create process flow diagrams for frame, fork, and component manufacturing.
Analyse tooling and fixturing requirements.
PFMEA creation and action plan ownership.
Communicate tooling, sample making, and testing status to project team.
Review ebike assembly SOP and compare to requirements.
Support supplier process development regarding manufacturing and assembly methods needed to make product to specifications.
Manage and conduct process improvement initiatives with suppliers.
Recognize incorrect operations and manage the action plan with supplier to correct them.
Conduct meetings and answer for production variances.
Qualify new suppliers and new processes.
Assist Design Engineers with prototype development.
Assist scouring teams with manufacturing / engineering-based recommendations.
Assist Engineering team members from USA and Germany during supplier visits.
QUALITY RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead First Article Inspection, fit-and-function, testing non-conformance root cause and corrective/preventative actions.
Review supplier and CSG 2D and apply quality features such as First Article Inspection, Routine Inspection, and Key Product Characteristics.
Create Control Plans and Gauge Plans with good understanding of Acceptable Quality Levels.
Support supplier inspection gauge design.
Support CSG Quality Management System process improvements.
Review manufacturing and inspection process documentation against actual build and inspection methods.
Validate ebike systems assembly specifications.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
University / College graduate, degree in engineering related field or equivalent.
Minimum 5 years experience in manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of assembly SOP.
Strong knowledge in quality management system and supplier quality program implementation and audit.
Good understanding of electronics.
SKILLS:
Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) and English, both in speaking and writing is essential.
Excellent leadership with good teamwork spirit.
Ability to give Design for Manufacturing and Assembly feedback to Design Engineers.
Lead supplier meetings for corrective actions and process improvements.
Critical thinking and proactive mindset.
Skilled at problem-solving.
Excellent understanding of inspection gauge design and process capability.
Expert in manufacturing process fundamentals with the ability to understand and fix process variation and non-conformance.
Thorough understanding of quality procedures such as FAI, RCCA, Gauge Plan, Control Plan, and PFMEA.
Ability to support multiple projects at the same time.
Computer skill for MS office, CAD (SolidWorks) is a plus.
Must be able to read and understand 2D drawings.
OTHERS (PERSONAL TRAITS, etc. Vietnamese speaking and written language skills are valued.
Electronics or automotive industry experience are a benefit.
Integrity /optimistic and passion to the assignment, responsible, and accountable.
Patient and listening.
Foresight and good sense to detect potential issues.
Cyclist.
