Position Summary:
We have an incredibly exciting opportunity for an Industrial Design Intern to work with our creative teams in Frome, UK or Freiburg, Germany, for 3-6 months, gaining experience with our bicycles, components, parts and accessories.
Responsibilities:
Within this role, you will work closely as part of the Industrial Design team to accomplish the following:
Act as an internal industrial design resource for the Cannondale brand to design product components, frames and other items with the direction and support from industrial designers, product managers, executives, vendors, and engineers.
Conceptualise and build prototype samples and models.
Visually communicate ideas to and with diverse groups of colleagues.
Perform both market and user research, including observation, interviews, and experiential research.
Keep products current with new and developing trends.
Maintain and improve modelmaking and painting shop areas.
Skills & Experience required:
To be successful in this role, you will need:
To be undertaking, or just completed, a Bachelors degree in Industrial Design or a related field,
Basic knowledge of bicycles parts and assembly knowledge,
Excellent sketching and design communication skills,
Familiarity with the product development process,
Familiarity with manufacturing processes and their implications for product design,
Excellent presentation skills,
Experience of Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar programmes,
Experience with SolidWorks, Alias or other 3D modelling programmes,
Familiarity with Apple and PC computer systems,
Knowledge of MS Office applications,
The ability to work in a team environment,
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
Model making and painting experience would be beneficial.
