Work collaboratively with Industrial Design, Product Management, Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Project Management, and suppliers to meet time, quality, and budget commitments.
Use 3D modeling software to design products and determine the ideal manufacturing process.
Use 2D drafting software to create technical part and assembly drawings utilizing GD&T.
Organize design reviews and DFMEAs to prepare new designs for manufacturing hand-off.
Develop test protocol for new designs, to ensure durability and performance criteria are met.
Create qualification test plans that meet international, legal, and CSG standards; troubleshoot testing failures and modify designs accordingly.
Manage prototype assembly, testing and troubleshooting through development.
Use manual machine tools and test equipment to fabricate, modify, build, and test prototype designs.
Work closely with Quality engineering and suppliers to maintain the strictest quality levels through development and production.
Maintain familiarity with internal testing protocols, internal clearance models, and international compliance standards.
Use computational analysis tools (FEA) to refine and optimize engineering design to ensure testing success while pushing the boundaries on lightweight design and performance.
Support and follow engineering best practices and establish new best practices as needed.
Perform research as needed to support new, innovative designs and/or processes.
Evaluate and tune ride performance by field testing and data acquisition.
Drive a company vehicle for transport of employees and equipment to off-site locations.
Travel as needed to support product development and testing.
Degree in mechanical engineering
Experience and understanding of hydraulic systems and damper design
Superior knowledge of bicycle and suspension products including their service assembly
Fluency in 2D and 3D design software (PTC Creo)
Strong mechanical aptitude to solve complex packaging, assembly, and mechanism problems
High level of self-motivation and ability to handle several concurrent projects
Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities
Experience and understanding of quality management systems
Exceptional team dynamics with the ability to support and cooperate with others
Work in versatile international teams
Ability to drive and pass DOT certification
Experience using GD&T
Proven use of Finite Element Analysis to evaluate structural parts and assemblies
Understanding of mass production CNC machining, forging, and stamping
Previous work in a bike shop
