This role is both hands-on and strategic and provides expertise in the areas of employee relations, workforce planning, performance management, compensation, employee retention, coaching/development, conflict management and ad hoc projects as necessary. This position reports to the VP HR for Pacific Cycle in Madison, WI.


Responsibilities


Responsible for managing all HR operations within warehouse locations and directly supporting the Vacaville, CA locationand provides oversight to a team of HR Business Partners within the other three distribution centers located in Olney, IL, Rancho Cucamonga, CA and Savannah, GA with a combined employees population of 400+ hourly and salaried employees.

Continually assess and design training plans for each member of the HR team to ensure that the there is 100% compliance of local labor laws and Dorel policies. Ensure a standard competency level for all HRGs. Ensures proper execution, communication and employee training of all employee benefit programs, compensation structures, compliance and reporting functions, organizational development, performance management, employee relations, recruitment and retention, diversity and affirmative action processes and company polices.

Conducts thorough internal employee investigations, provides appropriate guidance and collaborates with legal counsel as appropriate.

Collaborates with senior management team to develop strategic and tactical management planning and to define the human resources goals and objectives.

Acts as a Business Partner on matters of goals setting, policy development, and strategic implementation in support of achieving corporate objectives and business growth.

Manages all programs and work flows associated with employee life cycle, in accordance with Dorel Sports policies.

Provides guidance and approvals as to the development of new positions and changes to existing positions and departments.

Oversees and assists in recruitment, interviewing and employee selection using situational and behavioral interviewing techniques. Ensure that all employees involved in interviews are appropriately trained and manage process according to guidelines.

Ensures compliance with government reporting and Affirmative Action initiatives.

Oversees all leaves, compensation issues, and wage and hour compliance within the

Holds a final approval authority on compensation changes together with management and department managers.

Consults with managers and management in talent planning and development

Ensures PCG (Pacific Cycle Group) provides a safe workplace for all employees and ensures compliance with OSHA standards.

Provides HR leadership and counsel on critical business unit projects.

Conducts site visits to each facility on a quarterly basis, or more frequently if needed.

Partners with VP HR in Madison, WI HQ to ensure PCG adherence to policies.

Essential Qualifications


Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field.

10 years experience in Human Resources to include management of recruitment & selection process, employee relations, compensation management, training & development and safety programs.

Learning and Development technical expertise and platform delivery skills.

Experience consulting with executives regarding HR issues and in long term HR strategic planning.

Knowledge of all applicable labor and employment law including experience in California.

Experience in union and non-union facilities.

Prior experience managing remote employees both hourly and salaried.

Proven track record of developing a strong team.

Must have strong PC skills in Microsoft Office.

Must have previous experience managing a budget.

Must have strong communication and analytical skills.

Must have exceptional people management and relationship building skills.

Must have positive, upbeat attitude coupled with a strong work ethic.

Beneficial Qualifications


Masters degree in Human Resources.

Bi-lingual in English and Spanish is a strong plus

CP or SCP designation (formerly PHR or SPHR).

Experience in the consumer products industry.

Experience in the bicycle/sporting goods industry.

Familiarity with Ceridians Dayforce is a plus.

Physical Demands


Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.

Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.

Must be able to travel domestically to other work locations as needed.
