Position Summary:


The Product Manager E-bike will advance the Electric bike line up and maximize its effect for the CSG product portfolio. They will be required to establish short- and medium-term goals and strategy for the development of E-bike product to ensure brand vision and corporate objectives are met for our Global markets. The position will require a unique entrepreneurial aptitude for translating customer needs into


Physical Demands:


Must be able to able to lift moderate to heavy items such as test equipment and bicycle products up to 50 pounds, with assistance.

Must be able to climb, crouch and reach in and around equipment in order to inspect bicycle test samples and prototypes.

Must be able to handle and manipulate bicycle parts as needed for inspection.

Responsibilities:


Provide direction for the product categories with consideration of customer needs.

Establish business strategy to achieve sales, net margin, and SKU productivity for the assigned categories.

Collaborate with VP of Product Management for annual line reviews and creation of 3-year product roadmap.

Research rider trends, travel to events, connect with riders, build a product line that is commercially relevant.

Create product briefs to set up frame and component projects in close collaboration with engineering, industrial design, and graphic.

Collaborate with Product Lead E-bike on choice of motor suppliers and components.

Manage the development and final assembly of E-bike systems for CSG.

Manage vendor relationships as needed.

Ensure ongoing advancement of E-bike systems as well as ensuring regulatory compliance in countries where propulsion products from CSG are sold.

Attend conferences and seminars appropriate and pertaining to Light Electric Vehicle development, design, and testing.

Assist vendors and suppliers with their testing programs and product assembly of E-bike systems.

Ensure all suppliers have a random sample testing program in place and conduct user field testing of their products.

Ensure that all components and subcomponents comply with CSG quality manual requirements.

Establish with E-bike group sub vendors such as motor suppliers, battery vendors, motor controller manufacturers a service plan for world markets including EU, USA, Australia, and others as needed.

Work with bicycle engineering, and product development for all brands in order to prioritize E-bike group product development to meet desired production dates.

Function as an information source for E-bike items for CSG as needed.

Provide assistance to all product development offices.

Monitor developments in the marketplace, specifically, bicycle products, related technologies, competition, customers and end-users.

Solicit data on existing and new products from current and potential component and finished goods suppliers.

Develop design concepts and specifications to optimize profitability and meet price points.

Present/demonstrate product lines at sales meetings, and dealer meetings.

Work closely with production and sales teams to ensure the integrity of the product.

Work with factories and component suppliers designing, requesting and evaluating new parts and designs.

Write competitive analyses as necessary.

Conduct internal product training for service and sales staff.

Follow internal controls and company policies as set by CSG and job function.

Contribute to the success of CSG by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:


Mastery knowledge of bicycle parts, components, assembly, repair, and operation required.

Minimum 5 years experience in related bicycling and or E-bike field.

Prior experience in bicycle product development required, including experience with electric pedal assistance systems.

Prior experience working with Asian vendors, suppliers and manufacturers required.

Analytical/technical aptitude required.

Must have excellent communication skills and the ability to work with a culturally diverse group.

Must be proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.

Must be willing to travel domestically and internationally.

Beneficial Qualifications:


MS Engineering in energy related field coupled with mechanical design.

Knowledge of engineering processes beneficial.

Knowledge of CSG products beneficial.

Knowledge of motors, batteries, controllers.
