Manages processes and policies to ensure global coordination and integration of endemic and consumer PR, including media training, media tracking and reporting and setting KPIs and benchmarks.
Highly involved in new product launches, working with product development, marketing and senior management to ensure the most effective strategies possible are used and that products are exhibited in line with corporate strategy and brand direction.
Provides crisis communications support.
Identifies and informs management of vulnerabilities in strategies and corporate approach that could be portrayed negatively in the media. Suggests mitigation plans.
Develop on-going relationships with allied organizations.
Always maintains confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information.
Develops complete understanding of product and markets served.
Travels as needed to marketing/PR related events.
Follows internal controls and company policies as set by Company and job function.
Contributes to the success of Company by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.
Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field.
5-7 years experience in a consumer product PR/media relations management role to include product marketing experience.
Demonstrated experience with and ability to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and present clear, concise, grammatically correct verbal and written information.
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.
High degree of professionalism and diplomacy in relations with outside media contacts and internal departments.
Must be enthusiastic with a high sense of urgency.
Must be engaging and possess high energy and enthusiasm
Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
Must be action-oriented in order to set and meet targets and goals.
Experience preparing PR plans and strategy.
High commitment and orientation to teamwork.
Excellent decision-making skills required with regard to media placement and utilization.
Fluency in speaking and writing proper English.
Experience in the bicycle and/or sporting goods industry.
Experience with PR & media marketing to the IBD market.
Experience in a multi-brand and multi-product line environment.
Experience in a fast paced, agency setting beneficial.
