About the job
Position Summary:
The Product Manager for Parts and Accessories will establish a comprehensive business strategy to achieve sales and growth in multiple sales channels in conjunction with Parts and Accessories Product Development team and regional sales leads. They will be required to establish short and medium-term goals and strategy for the development of parts and accessories product to ensure brand vision and corporate objectives are met for the market. The position will require a unique entrepreneurial aptitude for translating customer needs into desired bicycle product.
Responsibilities:
Establish business strategy to achieve sales, net margin, and SKU productivity for the assigned categories with the leaders of Product Management, Sales, Finance, and Sourcing
Ensures on-time delivery of quality product in quantities that meet the sales organizations needs
Provide direction for the product categories with consideration of customer needs and experience
Conduct Parts and Accessories for annual line reviews and quarterly maintenance of 3-year product roadmap
Work with demand planning and sales to deliver accurate regional forecasts
Present product vision, features, and functionality to sales and externally to retailers
Work with Marketing and Sales to develop sales publications, catalogs, packaging and product launch packages
Review and share accountability for category margin
Maintains project schedules
Manages timely and complete internal communication of product line, details, schedules, forecast and quality updates.
Follows internal controls and company policies as set by company and job function.
Contributes to the success of company by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree with 4 + years of relevant Product Management experience
Minimum of 3 years experience in cycling industry
Knowledge of trends, market drivers, and customers in the cycling industry
Excellent communication skills written, verbal and listening
Strong presentation skills
Excellent financial analysis and business math skills
Demonstrated success in growing product categories
Excellent Excel and other Microsoft Office skills
Beneficial Qualifications:
Experience in working with Asian suppliers
Experience communicating to English as a second language audience
Ability to ride a bicycle
Sales experience
Understanding of European and Asian markets
Understanding of manufacturing techniques and quality systems
Environmental Factors:
Working conditions are normal for an office environment.
Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time.
Traveling 15 - 25 % of the time including international travel
Use of hand tools
