Position Summary:


The Manager Global Media Relations will lead global endemic media relations implementation for CSG brands Cannondale and GT ensuring that communications are aligned with CSG priorities and strategic brand direction.


Your Role:


Build and execute the Global and North American annual endemic public relation strategy based upon the key global brand launches and key evergreen platforms for Cannondale and GT

Accountable for North American to drive the business, products and sales with endemic PR channels and publications

Develop, maintain and nurture media relationships, particularly with endemic North American media

Develop deep understanding of NA region-specific brand issues and opportunities and integrate appropriate PR initiatives into the overall strategy

Build and execute the annual NA public relations outreach plan that delivers against the annual strategy

Identify, drive and deliver long-lead deep-integration media partnerships with key media to garner more in-depth and rich coverage on the top brand opportunities.

Write NA press releases associated with specific NA initiatives. Partner with the Global team in the editing of brand press releases

Manage the NA media measurements and tracking and create quarterly tracking reports against objectives

Align PR strategy with the specific NA marketing campaigns to ensure integration of PR with all paid media efforts and social media initiatives.

Acts as lead Cannondale, GT and Fabric brand spokesperson in North America, maintaining relationships with key endemic and non-endemic members of the press.

Manages PR budgets

Manages NA media tracking and reporting and the processes and policies to ensure global coordination and integration of endemic and consumer PR

Maintains confidentiality of sensitive and privileged information at all times.

Travels as needed to marketing/PR related events.

Follow internal controls and company policies as set by company and job function.

Contribute to the success of company by leading or assisting with other projects and tasks as assigned.

Essential Qualifications:


Bachelors degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism or related field.

5+ years of experience in a consumer product PR/media relations management role to include product marketing experience.

Deep experience in the cycling industry with a strong understanding of the bike (road, mountain and urban mobility) market, key competitors, bike technology and emerging consumer trends

Demonstrated experience with and ability to meet deadlines.

Demonstrated ability to prepare and present clear, concise, grammatically correct verbal and written information.

Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook.

High degree of professionalism and diplomacy in relations with outside media contacts and internal departments.

Must be enthusiastic with a high sense of urgency.

Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

Must have demonstrated ability to set and meet targets and goals.

Experience preparing PR plans and strategy.

High commitment and orientation to teamwork.

Excellent decision-making skills required with regard to media placement and utilization.

Fluency in speaking and writing proper English.

Beneficial Qualifications:


Experience in the bicycle and/or sporting goods industry.

Experience with PR & media marketing to the IBD market.

Experience in a multi-brand and multi-product line environment.

Experience in a fast paced, agency setting beneficial.

Environmental Factors:


Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

Must be able to sit for extended periods of time

Must be able to use a computer keyboard and view a monitor for extended periods of time

Must be able to use a computer and telephone maybe even a fax machine for old-times sake.

Must be able to maneuver around product and equipment at media events and trade shows.

Must be able to assemble/disassemble and ride bikes.

Must be able to travel 30-40% of the time as needed
