AFTCO, the American Fishing Tackle Company, is seeking a Merchandise Operations Coordinator in Santa Ana, CA.

Job Summary:

The Merchandise Operations Coordinator is a newly created role within our growing company. The primary function is the coordination of the product development flow from origination to final production across all AFTCO and Guy Harvey clothing categories. The role is centered around the product development calendar, line plan, sampling process and the communication of each to AFTCO team members. This position will report to the Design Director and will work extensively with the major internal departments including: Design,Sales, Marketing, Production and Customer Service.

Role and Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Product Development Calendar Maintenance & Execution
• Acting as the “traffic cop” between all parties involved in product development. This includes start to finish set-up, tracking, and internal communication of all style details and merchandising information.
• Initiating the necessary meetings, processes and follow up to ensure that all parties are on track with the established development calendar dates and execution.
• This complex role requires strong communication and organization skills. This position must be both the communicator and driver to ensure that all relevant product development details are recorded and conveyed to each team.

Company-wide Master Line Plan
• Work with the Design Directors to develop and execute master line plans with the goal of improving existing planning processes with enhancements to team communication.
• Make allowances for other product data files including: web feeds, GSX data, master B2B spreadsheets.
• Utilizing the master line plan to facilitate the communication of all needed details for catalog execution by the in-house marketing team.
• Regulate budget and SKU count throughout the line planning process.
• Cultivate buy-in and establish agreement between design planning team and finance that support seasonal product initiatives and overall business goals.

Merchandising
• Work with Design Directors to help develop line plan based on past wholesale performance and seasonal trends.
o Collect, coordinate, and summarize merchandising comments and observations from sales team and other outside staff, as well as consumer insights into relevant stories and concepts about our products.
o Summarize feedback from Brand Managers and work with Design Directors on its implementation.
• Work with internal cross-functional teams to provide the necessary details for company B2B site.
• Coordinate the sample process from start to finish, including the development of a sample grid for each season and the delivery of samples to all who need them.
• Establish the merchandise necessary for company show room, trade shows and other customer touch points.
• Organize and document fit meetings to ensure that all details are appropriately executed.

Additional Responsibilities
• In-house style master expert. Format and review style master details and product information for accuracy in our systems and maintain throughout the season.
• Schedule and coordinate bimonthly production meetings.
• Manage drops / carryovers / cut to sales lists and groups each season.
