AFTCO, the American Fishing Tackle Company, has an immediate full-time opening for an Apparel Product Developer, specifically for Printables, with 2 to 3 years of production-level experience to assist the development team with the generation of a quality printables line. Ideal candidates for this position are self-motivated, have good communications skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to multi-task in a fun work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
SAMPLING
• Generation and maintenance of all tech-packs for printables, domestic and off-shore.
• Approval of all samples and conduct press-checks at screen printers. The ideal candidate must have an eye for detail and a good color sense.
• Development of pre-production and sample purchase orders on all approved art. Must coordinate sample schedule with printers.
• Maintain consistent communication with Development, Management, and Production teams, follow an apparel development calendar, and meet deadlines consistently.
BLANKS
• Source blanks for all T-shirt Programs.
• Communicate regularly and conduct meetings with PL vendors to keep current on new mill product and availability.
• Negotiate pricing of all blanks with the help of the General Manager/CFO.
• In charge of generating specs on all new product, maintaining consistent fit and conducting fit sessions.
• Conduct wash tests on all printables.
• Work with vendors to identify and solve QC issues in a timely fashion.
• Manage the Blank Lead and team if the Assistant T-shirt Production Manager is out of the office.
FINISHED PRODUCT
• Lead QC efforts if the Receiving lead discovers a problem with quality.
• Work with screen printers to identify and solve QC issues.
• Communicate with the screen printers on delivery dates if the Assistant T-shirt Production Manager is out of the office.
COST SHEETS / STYLE MASTER
• Generation of cost sheets for all printables.
• Creation of style master entry sheets for all printables.
• Lead the updating of the style master if a significant change occurs, such as a change in cost or price.
