About The Job
As a Senior Data Scientist on the Personalization & Discovery team, you will be advancing the methods by which we assist our online customers in their product discovery journey. We create machine learning solutions for search, browse, recommendations and navigation just to name a few. While our methods span a gambit of approaches from sequence based neural networks to hybrid collaborative filters to other learn to rank and reinforcement architectures, we arrive at those approaches with a business impact first focus. You will report to the Global Data Science Manager.
In this role, you will:
!
Develop production ready, reliable, scalable, and maintainable AI solutions to address complex problems and opportunities in the area of recommendation systems, search and browse.
!
Understand the impact opportunity your solutions address and be responsible for maximizing that impact in production
!
Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs, build alignment, influence technical roadmaps, and own roadmap workstream(s)
!
Proactively influence the team vision, strategy and roadmap.
!
Mentor and grow junior members of the team in building the best of the class solutions
!
Actively contribute to raising the bar of the team ML standards and best practices
!
Maintain a strong understanding of the business, its emerging opportunities and how to measure impact.
!
Proactively identify trends and opportunities to drive innovation, both in what we do and how we do it
!

Ideally, you will have:
!
An advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related quantitative field (PhD is a plus)
!
7+ years of professional experience developing and deploying machine learning models and algorithms of progressing complexity and demonstrated business impact
!
Wide and deep knowledge of the entire model development pipeline (from ideation to deployment & monitoring) and ML architectures (e.g., supervised, unsupervised, reinforcement learning, etc.) with a few areas of deeper expertise
!
3+ years experience with Python model development specifically
!
1+ year experience working with business stakeholders to identify opportunities and inform prioritization
!
1+ year experience in ecommerce
!
Proficient in multiple ML frameworks and core technologies (e.g., tensorflow, xgboost, etc.).
!
Proficient with AWS, GCP or equivalent on-premise platforms
!
Excellent SQL skills
!
