This role is eligible for remote work but there will be significant travel.

Responsibilities
!
Review facility practices, policies to determine compliance with Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations.

!
Use key relationships to ensure collaborative execution of EHS projects from conception to implementation and follow up.

!
Develop and report performance metrics as needed to leaders to ensure proper priority and focus on EHS issues.

!
Coordinate training activities to ensure the development of facility EHS Leaders.

!
Direct and facilitate training itinerary for annual joint Union/Management meeting.

!
Identify non-compliance and develop proposed solutions. 

!
Develop and submit capital project budget as it relates to EHS for all facilities.

!
Provide leadership, direction, and consultation on technical safety and ergonomic related issues to LSA owned and operated locations to ensure compliance with internal policy, state and federal regulation.

!
Technical EHS resource to LS&Co. logistics business partners that provides clarity on policy and regulation, and is able to drive implementation of effective solutions.  

!
Act as a liaison between labor (union), management and Human Resources/Labor Relations to satisfy safety and ergonomics provisions of the labor contract and partnering with facility management during joint projects.

!
Generate and review safety experience reports to assist facilities in developing their annual EHS compliance strategies.

!
Coordinate loss control activities with insurance agency to ensure compliance with state statutes.

!
Establish foundations for collaboration by building credibility and trust with internal and external groups such as unions, nongovernmental organizations, trade associations, and other brands.  

!
Conduct comprehensive facility audits, and provide recommendations for resolution of issues.

!
Support the implementation of processes that ensure compliance with company philosophy, policy, procedures, and regulatory compliance, i.e. workers compensation regulations, case management.

!
Administrator of corporate OSHA recordkeeping program.

!
Assists with claims management practices.

!
Contracts and consults with regional consultants, CMS, and HRM as appropriate on health promotion, claims management, processes, best practices, and health care.

!
Oversees the Medical Emergency Response Team and ensures that training, documentation and vaccinations are scheduled and completed.

!
Provides health promotion consulting expertise to facilities regarding disease management processes and collaborative opportunities. Facilitates appropriate health promotion strategies through data analysis and research.

!
Develops mastery and proactive knowledge of innovative healthcare solutions by researching professional mediums, benchmarking other companies, and analyzing LS&CO best practices.

!
Serve as a key leader and advocate for comprehensive and integrated attention to employee health and wellness efforts.

!
Play a constructive role in influencing policies and practices that address employee health and wellness.

Qualifications
!
Bachelors of Science or equivalent

!
Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the applicable states

!
Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN) or professional safety designation preferred

!
Work experience and knowledge may be substituted for educational and certification requirements

!
Certified in First Aid and CPR

!
Minimum 10 years of experience in Environment, Health, and Safety

!
Expert understanding of 29 CFR 1910, NFPA Code, and ANSI standards, and basic understanding of international EHS laws and regulation

!
Environmental Laws including RCRA (Resource Conservation Recovery Act), 40 CFR 50-97 (Clean Air Act), 40 CFR 100-140 (Clean Water Act), 40 CFR 141-149 (Safe Drinking Water Act) and 40 CFR 195 (Toxic Substance Control Act)

!
Industrial Hygiene principles including Noise Management and Exposure assessments

!
Risk management principles including claims management, risk financing, loss control, and workers compensation

!
Board of Nursing laws in each state of practice, Occupational Health Nursing principles and practices

!
Must be able and willing to travel up to 50- 60%
