JOB DESCRIPTION
In this role you will be a key member of the Global Distribution IT team, liaising with Global Distribution Systems technical teams in testing and deploying their code, and gathering SOX and process compliance evidence, and debugging production build issues. The Build and Release Lead is responsible for driving and coordinating Distribution Systems project releases, small enhancements, bug/fixes, and regular Keep-the-Light-On (KLO) releases for internal business application capabilities.  The Lead DevOps Engineer will work with other engineers to automate the build and test processes within Global Distribution Systems while being a key team member of development and implementation teams.  The Lead will work closely with IT development & testing teams, IT operation teams, and IT project managers to deliver high-quality IT application releases.

Key Metrics:
! Monitors the business’s applications/software, ensuring standard compliance
! Plays an active role in building and improving the platform services inclusive of websites, software, and applications
! Troubleshoot complex issues as quickly and effectively as possible
! Strong relationships with business and IT partners
! Guides and mentors the rest of the DevOps QA/Release Management team
! Works closely with IT functional project managers and IT leadership to influence adoption, support, and adherence of on-going improvements to LS&Co

Key Responsibilities:
! Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities; Plan release windows and cycles across project portfolio
! Manage release calendar and milestones.
! Install and configure solutions, implement reusable components, translate technical requirements, assist with all stages of test data, develop interface stubs and simulators and perform script maintenance and updates
! Design and build scripts and automation frameworks to continuously improve efficiencies and accuracy of the software build, integration, release, and deployment processes
! Manage source code tagging, branching, and merging
! Provide tool support to project teams
! Manage multiple release streams within the source code management tool
! Create and maintain process documentation, including software build procedures, build manifests, configuration specifications and audit reports
! Conduct periodic reviews of user access to the source code repository and work with designated staff to maintain the authorized access and permissions
! Research, design and implement new software configuration management tools from the ground-up to automate and release software applications.
! Collaborate with the development and test teams for code deployments into the respective environments; coordinate and report out production release progress and activities
! Work with information security and server support personnel to ensure server patching activities are well coordinated with ongoing release management support
! Ensure appropriate project documentation is available for each new build or release
! Ensure SOX audits are complete and automate the collection process
! Clear understanding of the Linux and Windows environments.  
! works hand-in-hand with the development teams in creating solutions for the purpose of deploying and monitoring software/applications
! Influence and implement best practices consistent with an agile development methodology.
! Perform environment planning, provisioning, and management required to support the releases
! Conduct Release Readiness reviews, Milestone reviews, and Business Go/No-Go reviews
