On the Search for…

We are seeking a strategic advisor and media relations expert to shape the future of one of America’s most iconic companies. The Corporate Affairs team is responsible for shaping and protecting Levi Strauss & Co.’s reputation as one of the apparel industry’s top-performing, most socially responsible and values-led global brands. We are looking for an accomplished communicator to join our Corporate Affairs team as the Director of Business and Financial Communications.

You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction for external communications across a number of highly visible, high-stakes areas for the company. You will lead the strategy for business and financial communications and shape storytelling around the company’s strategic growth drivers, including: our brands, our direct-to-consumer and diversification strategies and our digital transformation. You will work directly with senior executives, including our CEO and CFO, to advise on communications. You will report to the Vice President, Business Performance & Digital Transformation Communication.

About the Job
! Lead business and financial communications
! Develop and execute short- and long-term corporate media strategies to raise LS&Co.’s profile, strengthen reputation and articulate key areas of differentiation and competitive advantage
! Lead and execute media relations and communications for key financial events and investor matters, including quarterly earnings, our annual shareholder meeting, investor days, annual report, disclosures and filings.
! Build integrated communications strategy and messaging platform for our chief financial officer and other executives
! Lead communications for the digital transformation narrative, including innovations across direct-to-consumer and Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning
! Drive corporate thought leadership
! Raise LS&Co.’s profile among key business and financial audiences via feature stories, external forums and day-to-day media relations
! Build and manage relationships with key industry and business media and other external stakeholder groups
! Partner with direct-to-consumer, regional, and brand teams to shape proactive media strategies and message platforms that drive thought leadership
! Advise and coach spokespersons to enhance their storytelling skills and impact; prepare senior management for media interviews and public events and announcements
! Lead LS&Co. news bureau
! Leverage thought leadership, industry trends and news cycles to identify earned media opportunities and craft timely, interesting and relevant pitches
! Serve as a company spokesperson
! Lead metrics reporting for business performance and digital transformation narratives, including message effectiveness and impact
! Provide crisis counsel and support reactive media efforts on a range of business and financial topics

About You
! An avid consumer of news – you can identify media trends & interests and what “works” with top media
! A trusted advisor to your business partners and other communications colleagues
! A strong writer and capable editor
! A collaborator capable of cultivating strong relationships with colleagues within LS&Co. and external partners, including reporters
! University Degree
! Minimum 10 years of experience in external communications and media relations, including leading or supporting financial communications at a public company
! Financial literacy and knowledge of core business and financial metrics
! Corporate communications experience in a large multi-national company or a global brand
! Expertise in media relations and high comfort level working with media for both proactive and reactive issues
! Proven experience in effectively communicating with high-level executives and outside thought leaders
