JOB DESCRIPTION We are looking for a talented MBA with deep interest in and passion for apparel retail to join the Global Direct to Consumer (retail and ecommerce) team for 10 weeks this summer. We will teach you what you need to know about the world of retail and ecommerce – after all, you’ll be working with the most original and definitive denim brand in the world! Our program will give you a chance to work on strategic business initiatives and present your findings to senior leadership. In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, interns will be exposed to all areas of our business and our brands. To top it off, you get to spend the summer in San Francisco! Position Overview: LS&Co. is currently in a revolutionary phase as it seeks to transform into a leading direct to consumer retailer. Our mission in the Global Direct to Consumer business is to deliver the next generation shopping experience to our consumers around the world. As online and offline retail continue to converge, we are focused on delivering a seamless, frictionless experience for consumers. We are looking for a dynamic, high performing individual with a passion for retail and ecommerce to join our team this summer. This is not a corporate position – it is a strategy, growth and business development role that sits directly within our global business. You can expect to be fully immersed in our day-to-day operations and help lead thinking around how to approach the digital disruption facing the retail industry. The nature of the work during the internship will include: • Owning a major workstream focused on uncovering and assessing growth opportunities in retail and ecommerce • Highlighting and implementing ways to foster innovation within the company through partnerships with external startups and large-scale technology platforms • Participating in key go-to-market activities for retail and ecommerce • Providing timely insights and support to executives across the company on workstreams • Your primary responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): • Guide decision-making around core business issues & new concepts/opportunities, including new markets for expansion, innovation and digital partnership opportunities • Conduct analytics around consumer behavior, industry trends, competitive environment, opportunity sizing and growth & partnership opportunities • Partner closely with senior executives across functions including Merchandising, Marketing, Product, Technology, Operations and Finance • Develop expertise on retail industry, ecommerce, retail innovation and next-generation shopping behaviors and technologies • Assist in tracking and managing KPIs and metrics to drive core strategies Requirements for the Internship: • Bachelor’s Degree • Currently enrolled full-time in a top-tier MBA program, with expected graduation in spring/summer 2020 Additional Qualifications: • Strong passion for the apparel and technology industries • Proven analytical skills with the ability to use data to frame, dissect and solve problems, demonstrating quantitative strength and an ability to logically ‘connect the dots’ • Highly proficient in Excel and experience working with financial data • Strong verbal and written communication skills; detail oriented and thorough; experience creating content for executive-level audiences • Ability to work well with diverse co-workers • Ability to proactively seek out new learning opportunities; intellectual curiosity with the ability to learn new information quickly • Team-orientation as well as the ability to work independently • “Out of the box” thinker with a passion for creative solutions • Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with changing priorities • Exceptional problem solving and organizational capabilities • High degree of flexibility and initiative with limited direction The Company's policy is to provide equal opportunity to all persons without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, citizenship, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, marital status, Vietnam era/disabled veteran status, physical or mental disability, or other protected classes prohibited by applicable law.
