Title: Sr Director Global Retail Operations Reports to: VP Global DTC Job Purpose: Leads the definition and delivery of strategic roadmap to accelerate LS&Co productivity for retail stores (owned & operated and franchise). Active leader in creating, updating, and refining the LS&Co Retail Strategy connected to the Omnichannel vision, including investment cases, roadmap, and timeline to deliver improved consumer experience and sustainable, profitable growth in retail. This would include strategic partnership in defining Retail Strategy, Innovation discovery and research, Store format development and evolution, internal business and external market analysis Key responsibilities: • Be an active leader on the DTC (Direct to Consumer) team in defining the Global Retail Operations strategy and priorities to achieve LS&Co objectives and accelerates retail. Develop deep understanding of retail and e-commerce consumers and category dynamics globally. Partner closely with Global and Regional leaders in Retail, E-commerce, and IT to help evolve Retail and Omnichannel vision and roadmap. Understand the competitive and vendor environment and identify leading ideas to incorporate into LS&Co Retail and Omnichannel strategy and approach. • Improve Existing Fleet performance and productivity. Invest in understanding current performance levels and nuances between countries and regions. Define strategy, investment plan, and road map to drive sustainable, profitable growth focusing on increasing comp store sales and 4-wall contribution of retail stores. Primary focus areas will include conversion, UPT, AUR, gross margin, payroll optimization, and improved in-stocks and inventory productivity. • Evolve the Store Operating Model. Design, test, and roll out tiered store operating model in partnership with the regions that incorporates and adapts to new tools/technologies, category expansions, and store design to deliver improved consumer service, elevated retail experience, seamless omnichannel experience, and optimized in-stocks and inventory levels. Incorporate consumer insights and competitor best practices to design a leading service model that differentiates our brand, while optimizing payroll. • Lead design and optimization of all in-store business processes. This includes receiving and inventory management, staffing and labor scheduling, sales floor coverage and consumer engagement, tailor shop and customization, checkout and customer service, and all omnichannel functions. Continuously evaluate and optimize processes to drive optimal consumer service in key differentiating areas while optimizing inventory and payroll to deliver leveraged growth. Work with technology partners to identify and explore emerging technology to transform store processes. • GRC roadmap. Lead the annual process to prioritize investments in technology and tools to support retail store performance (Global Retail Capabilities roadmap). Partner closely with IT and Regional Retail teams to evaluate and prioritize investments in foundational and innovation retail capabilities, co-lead RFI/RFP process with IT and Strategic Sourcing process to select vendor partners, and manage GRC projects to deliver expected capabilities and benefits on-time and on budget. • Design and lead proof-of-concept tests and pilots to evaluate consumer and store team response/feedback to new technologies, tools, and capabilities. Define performance criteria and dashboards to evaluate costs/benefits and recommend refinements to the retail and omnichannel strategies and roadmap improve financial returns and consumer benefits. • Lead the definition of rollout, training, and implementation plans with regions to drive adoption and utilization that will meet or exceed expected outcomes. Partner with retail leadership in each region to develop and deliver training, monitor results, improve and iterate pilots and drive leveraged growth. • Lead the DTC Retail Performance and Productivity team. Set objectives, manage and coach team and direct reports to achieve goals. KPI’s - Financial performance vs PY: Sales, GM, Conversion, UPT, AUR, 4-wall SG&A - Payroll: Optimize staffing (FT/PT mix), Recommended vs Actual hours, Payroll leverage - Inventory: Store in-stocks, Sales floor in-stocks, Inventory turn - On-time and On-budget delivery of Global Retail Capabilities that meet/exceed PER benefits - Performance vs. PER for Global Retail Capabilities Scope: - Global role - Levi’s owned & operated and franchise stores - Partners closely with the Regional Retail VPs, Levi.com, Franchise Partners, and IT teams Experience and Education: - Bachelor’s Degree - 10+ years of experience in retail operations - Advanced degree(masters in IE) or experience leading projects in the industrial engineering/process optimization space is preferred but not required.
