In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, all interns will participate in an intern group project dedicated to a critical business initiative as well as be exposed to all areas of our business and our brands. Leadership seminars and career exploration series connect our interns to our leaders and educate around different career paths. Intern performance will be assessed using our internal review process. Distribution & Logistics (Graduate) Internship Position Overview: The Distribution & Logistics team is looking for a talented, driven and highly analytical Graduate Student intern. This role offers the unique opportunity to be a part of the Global Distribution & Logistics Team. The successful candidate will be a strong general athlete. She or he must be able to work independently, be comfortable with ambiguity, communicate with and be able to influence employees at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will be a strong project manager with deep analytical abilities. She/he will be able to dive deep into data, invent processes to simplify tasks, act like a business owner, have a bias for action and stay focused on delivering results. And most of all they must have tenacity, diplomacy and a sense of humor. The nature of the work during the internship will include: · Work on the global Distribution & Logistics inbound inventory deployment planning process o Process map the inbound planning and execution processes o Test & learn with advanced analytics techniques to create innovative models for operations · Work on global supply chain cross-functional initiatives · Assist in identifying areas lacking effective procedures, help to develop and implement improved processes/controls that are practical to the business purposes. · Highlight and implement ways to foster innovation within the company. · Partner across various supply chain verticals to develop an integrated financial model for product flow. · Providing timely insights and support to executives across the company on work streams. Your primary responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): · Research, develop and share knowledge of emerging distribution & logistic trends, innovations and companies. · Evaluate a key strategic initiative for LS&CO. to determine if we should pursue it or not. Requirements for the Internship: · Currently enrolled in a full-time top-tier graduate program, with expected graduation in 2019 or 2020. · Working towards a Graduate degree in one of the following areas: Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Data Engineering, Statistics, Information and Data Science · Leverage / develop skills in Excel/SQL/Python/R/TensorFlow/Business Intelligence (BI) to develop innovative models for data-driven process improvement, decision making and innovation.
