Key Responsibilities: • Establish and govern an enterprise data governance implementation roadmap including strategic priorities for development of information-based capabilities • Roll out and maintain an enterprise-wide data governance policy and framework, with a focus on improvement of data quality and the protection of sensitive data through modifications to organization behavior policies and standards, principles, governance metrics, processes, related tools and data architecture. This policy and framework should cover:• Data prioritization • Roles and responsibilities, ensuring clear accountability for stewardship of our principal information assets • Data quality measures and rules for control (spearheaded by data quality lead) • Metadata and data lineage (including associated metadata management tools) • Data retention • Data security and privacy (working closely with the Information Security and Legal teams) • Conduct training sessions with the data stewards on the policy, standards and processes; coordinate with Data Stewards for each domain to achieve defined goals within group data management • Promote communication between teams and technology to ensure that data-related requirements for protecting sensitive data are clearly defined, communicated, and well understood and considered as part of operational planning • Develop an inventory of the enterprise information maps, including authoritative systems and owners as part of an enterprise data dictionary • Coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancies • With IT, identify data retention opportunities and issues • Together with IT, provide progress reports to Data Governance Council and oversee periodic updates to the Data Governance Roadmap Minimum Education Required: • Bachelor of Engineering/Science/Technology degree preferably in Computer Science or other Engineering discipline or equivalent Years and Type of Experience Required: • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a major services organization, with large-scale data or project management and oversight experience.
