About the Job The Senior Manager of Corporate External Communications is essential to our success: you will create corporate communications campaigns and media strategies to position Levi Strauss & Co. as one of the apparel industry’s top-performing companies. This position reports to the Senior Director of Corporate Communications. You will help shape and tell our corporate narrative to essential media audiences and influencers to build awareness of LS&Co.’s leadership and heritage, business strategies and global performance. This includes managing essential business and financial communications such as quarterly earnings, shaping storytelling around LS&Co.’s strategic growth drivers, tapping into our history and heritage to tell a holistic story, and designing global external communications campaigns that enhance overall reputation. We are looking for a superb storyteller who will bring creativity, thoughtfulness and a keen ability to connect dots to tell our story. You’ll partner closely with our most senior executives to coach and advise them on the right stories to tell at the right time and to the right audience. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop corporate media strategies to build visibility of LS&Co.’s leadership and heritage, growth potential, global competitiveness, and performance. • Lead executive visibility and expertise programs including awards, rankings, and conferences/external forums around our performance and industry. • Partner closely with company historian to help tell LS&Co.’s heritage story. • Manage news releases and media inquiries on financial and investor matters, in partnership with LS&Co. Investor Relations team, including writing materials, securing approvals and handling communication with reporters. • Display business literacy and understanding of apparel industry news and trends to identify opportunities for storytelling. About You PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / QUALIFICATIONS • University Degree with 6-8 years of experience in external communications and media relations • Writing test required • Corporate communications experience in a large multi-national company or a global consumer brand • Mix of agency and in-house experience preferable • Expertise in media relations and high comfort level working with the media for both proactive and reactive issues • Strong interpersonal skills • Professional posture and foresight; Proven experience in partnering with top-level executives and outside specialists • Demonstrated ability to present complex business ideas, strategies and results succinctly and persuasively at the senior executive level We put a lot of thought into our programs to provide you with a benefits package that matters.
