In this role you will support the Americas Strategy Team in evaluating market entry opportunities and building a business case for a specific market. You will assess industry dynamics, conduct research on consumer profile and behavior, and source data from various sources to build a model quantifying the opportunities and the risks. You will use strategy frameworks that you have learned in your first-year curriculum in business school (such as Porters Five Forces) to provide assessment of the LS&Co brand position and overall fit with the new markets and will have a platform to present your findings and recommendations to senior members of the company. You will also work cross-functionally with other departments to connect the strategy to the broader functional teams to ensure future integration and success. In addition to day-to-day responsibilities, all interns will participate in an intern group project dedicated to a critical business initiative as well as be exposed to all areas of our business and our brands. Leadership seminars and career exploration series connect our interns to our leaders and educate around different career paths. Interns performance will be assessed using our internal review process. Primary responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): • Provide strategic input on key business opportunity projects in the Americas (the U.S., Canada & Latin America) centered on market entry, market creation & functional capabilities • Assess the Americas industry dynamics and the position of the LS&Co brand portfolio across markets • Conduct qualitative research of shopping trends and the consumer landscape to tailor business strategy to particular markets • Quantify the impact of business decisions by building analytical models and running sensitivity analyses • Capture & communicate insights to members of the senior management team and other functional experts • Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Marketing, Merchandising & other teams throughout the company to align strategic priorities to departmental plans Requirements for the Internship: • First-year MBA student • Experience in developing a market entry strategy and doing secondary research to gather additional insights and translate that into actionable plans • Strong analytical skills with the ability to find and use data to frame hypotheses, test solutions, and make recommendations — requires ability to ‘connect the dots’ from disparate sources • High proficiency in Excel; experience building financial and sensitivity models • Exceptional communication skills; proficiency in PowerPoint with ability to craft presentations of key insights developed from analytical work • Experience in managing a project independently; highly organized and detail-oriented The Company's policy is to provide equal opportunity to all persons without regard to race, color, creed, religion, national origin, citizenship, sex, age, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression, marital status, Vietnam era/disabled veteran status, physical or mental disability, or other protected classes prohibited by applicable law.
