As the Merchant (Buyer) for wholesale, you will implement the European merchandising and Wholesale strategy in collaboration with Global, Cluster and Retail merchants. You will lead the selection and assortment of consumer relevant, market-leading products for our Wholesale accounts in Europe, using consumer data, trends, and competitive intelligence. You will directly manage assortment choice and investments in collaboration with planning to deliver the strategic, financial and brand equity objectives of the company.
⏵ Accountable for achieving plan metrics to drive Sales, maximize Prebook and at-once business, Gross Margin, and Inventory. Analyze product performance and category KPI of sell in,sell-out, sell-through, ROS, markdown, price, density to determine products needs and future success and opportunities
⏵ Develop strategic assortment plans that contain the appropriate product mix to drive the most relevant segmentation strategy per market while supporting key performance targets, including sales, profitability and brand equity
⏵ Determine assortment investments in collaboration with planning, define product lifecycle, product flow and product pricing guidelines to maximize profit and consumer value
⏵ Brief European products needs and develop assortment plans/ranges in partnership with the Global product team to achieve the most impactful consumer proposition and cost requirements. Partner with Global hub on seasonal consumer point-of-view and the commercialization of that view to optimize volume and profitability
⏵ Lead cross-functional business and product teams to implement long-term and short-term actions to maximize business results and launch products in an impactful way. Build close relationship and install close collaboration with planning, cluster team, sales and marketing team to drive the most productive and relevant assortment in each market
⏵ Present seasonal line and business strategies to key partners during milestones meetings to gain approval and alignment
⏵ Coordinate on-floor product presentations in conjunction with Retail Creative Services to create compelling product stories for the consumer
⏵ Implement the right pricing strategy in collaboration with the pricing manager and cluster merchants to ensure the right price positioning in the market place while driving healthy margin
⏵ Implement global strategies within LSE and ensuring the integrity of seasonal category stories and global brand vision
Essential Skills and Requirements
⏵ Minimum 4 years commercial experience of Wholesale Merchandising / Buying gained in apparel and/or accessories
⏵ Business Acumen: Applies seasoned judgment. Externally focused and market driven, stays current on market/industry developments, the competition and consumer trends to identify business and brand implications. Grasps the full meaning of intercompany relationships and functional indicators.
