We are looking for a Merchandise Planner (pre-season) - French market to join our planning team in our European Headquarters in Diegem, Belgium. In this role you will act as a trusted member of the South Retail Trading team to support brand/category strategy and vision. You will use your analytical skills; financial acumen and knowledge of the market to inform the retail and wholesale buy plans. You will work with merchandising to optimize product offer and lifecycle by store grading to build upcoming season inventory plans.
⏵ Build monthly demand forecast across all business models Retail with focus on the French market.
⏵ Review monthly retail demand forecast & reconcile against plans
⏵ Develop bottom-up sales & inventory product plan, delivering to line productivity and informing financial & inventory decisions
⏵ Reflect product performance into distribution strategy following Retail Merchandise assortment plan
⏵ Partner with Retail Merchandise to manage product lifecycle and optimize product phasing
⏵ Support Retail Merchandise during franchise partner sell in sessions to provide franchise sell in plans
⏵ Manage reconciliation between bottom-up plans and targets
⏵ Support Retail Trading Manager to recommend profitable inventory decisions
⏵ Conduct quantitative analysis and insights to optimize line profitability—monetize new opportunities and identify risks
⏵ Define optimized sizes selection/adoption based on sell thru results
⏵ Visit retail stores to gather market intelligence and reflect essential take outs in pre-season trading strategy
⏵ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, Finance or similar
⏵ 3 - 5 years of work experience in retail business (similar or equivalent to planning or allocation)
⏵ English and French fluent, written and spoken, any other European language is an asset
⏵ Strong analytical skills to interpret meaningful themes from quantitative data
⏵ Ability to articulate key financial measures, and how they are used in key systems/tools.
⏵ Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
⏵ Ability to problem solve independently& through strong partnerships with regional business partners
⏵ Excellent organizational and time management skills with attention to detail
⏵ Strong listening and interpersonal skills with focus on collaborative team-work
Travel: 10% (market visits, internal meetings, etc.)
