Levi’s is looking for a Senior Merchant to join our Global Merchandising team.  You will have full accountability for select Men’s Tops categories and will be responsible for strategic growth of the business.  You will build and manage our product strategy, assortment, line plan and drive the business in partnership with the Director of Men’s tops. Our perfect candidate is an expert in Men’s merchandising and product, has global experience, is a natural leader and strong manager, and has a passion for the apparel industry.

About The Job:
! Be able to connect the dots and create product solutions for one or more categories to win in the marketplace
! Build strategic seasonal category initiatives for one or more categories based on target market and consumer
! Partner with Director to build near term and long term category plans
! Manage and Deliver metrics including sellout reviews for one or more categories. 
! Use data to make product decisions, build product line for the future.
! Expert in the industry.  Understand regional market share and opportunity to grow.
! Create and influence successful product assortment for one or more categories by price tier
! Be in the trenches when needed and be able to turn around and present to leadership.
! Manage and Build team of 1-2 merchants.  Build effective cross functional relationships

About You:
! Bachelor's degree in related discipline (8+ years combined college education and work experience may be substituted for a degree)
! Minimum 5 years direct merchandising experience working at an apparel manufacturer, retailer or marketer
! Minimum 3 years in a management role with responsibility for team leadership and development
! Global experience is highly preferred
! In-depth knowledge of merchandising and design trends in the global marketplace
! Knowledge of garment design and construction
! Knowledge of cost of goods
! Strong planning and organizational skills
! Excellent communication skills - includes presentation, influencing and negotiation skills
! Demonstrated ability to coach, develop and mentor others
! Demonstrates high degree of flexibility and initiative
! Recognized as a category expert
! Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, powerpoint & Excel)
