GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate that wants to be challenged on a daily basis a candidate who has the passion to manage over $1 billion dollars in global revenue and collections. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all revenue streams including Hardware, Software and Services. Further, the candidate will be expected to lead automation projects, recommend solutions, and provide excellent support to the business. A strong knowledge of GAAP, SEC regulations, FASB pronouncements, and EITFs, including working knowledge of software revenue recognition and multiple element arrangements is required. This is an excellent opportunity to make a huge impact, with ample exposure to Companys leadership team.
Responsibilities
Lead all aspects of the Companys revenue accounting process, including technical analysis, determination of reserves, review of monthly and quarterly journal entries and reconciliations, managing customer credit, and working with sales to ensure timely order fulfillment.
Perform contract review to ensure terms align with internal policies and comply with US GAAP.
Research potential new revenue streams and provide actionable recommendations to management.
Work closely with our Sales Leads, Operational Managers, and Planning team to problem solve challenges for monthly, quarterly and yearly corporate goals.
Oversee the Companys collections team, including managing customer credit, approving bad debt write-offs, and ensuring timely collection goals are met.
Assist FP&A with revenue and contra revenue forecasting projections and methodologies.
Assist the Finance team with ad hoc research, reporting, and projects.
Implement controls and evaluate actions required for compliance with the company's revenue recognition accounting process.
Lead process and system improvement initiatives to automate revenue recognition and cash automation.
Key interface with outside auditors on revenue and technical accounting positions.
Manage cross-functional teams throughout the entire project life-cycle from problem definition, requirements definition, design, development, testing, and implementation.
Skills Were Stoked About
Business/Accounting Degree and CPA or advanced degree preferred
6+ years combined of Big 4 and industry experience, including technical revenue recognition
Excellent knowledge of US GAAP
Deep understanding of revenue guidance and effects on revenue as it relates to discounts, payment terms, and bundling
Exceptional communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational, information and time-management skills
Creative problem-solving skills
Ability to handle confidential company information and financials
Highly productive and dependable team player
Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Commitment to process improvement and the ability to think out-of-the-box
