GoPro is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer. This position reports to the Manager of Systems Engineering. The person in this position will be part of the team responsible for server and storage infrastructure. These consist of both physical and virtual servers and execute both on-premise and in one or more cloud platforms such as AWS. You will design, implement and manage Linux environments. The ability to help streamline and automate operational tasks will be an important aspect of your responsibility. The position calls for a mature candidate comfortable working in a dynamic environment. We're looking for a team player who demonstrates creativity, a willingness to learn and adapt.
Responsibilities
Linux system engineering andadministration with an emphasis onStandards development
Operational Management (Change, Patch and Configuration management etc.)
Automation
Storage administration, engineering and maintenance to ensure appropriate capacity, redundancy and data protection are in place
OS administration, engineering and maintenance on bare metal, VMs (VMWare, AWS and Azure).
Capacity planning, performance tuning and security administration
Development of proper monitoring metrics for deployed services
Integration of services (e.g. corporate IAM systems / Active directory to provide secure access)
Be a key partner and/or leader in all systems engineering related projects
Manage tasks, projects, and plans for a small team.
Participate in day to day support activities
Participate and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
Be a mentor
Skills Were Stoked About
Linux OS and services on bare-metal, VMWare and in the cloud (AWS, Azure etc).CentOS/RHEL, Ubuntu and some SuSe
Experience with deployment automation tools like Chef, Puppet, SaltStack, Jenkins etc
Ability to develop automation tools.
Experience with a ticketing and project/change management tools such as JIRA and ServiceNOW.
Demonstrated knowledge of common networking protocols and technologies as they relate to servers:
Ability to write concise documentation at a technical level quickly and accurately.
Ideal Product/Technology Experience:
VMWare, AWS, Azure
Nginx/haproxy
SaltStack, Munki, SCCM, Jenkins
NetApp, StorNext
Networking: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS,etc.
