As a Senior Linux Engineer at GoPro, you will lead in a dynamic, fast-paced environment to build our automation capability. The Systems Engineering Team works with cool tech, such as AWS and VMware, that undergirds GoPros corporate and customer-facing infrastructure. This role is responsible for physical and virtual servers, as well as on-site and cloud-based storage. We're looking for a team player who demonstrates creativity, adaptability, and a desire to learn.
What You Will Do
Engineer and administer Linux system with an emphasis on:Standards development
Operational management (change, patch and configuration management etc.)
Automation
Engineer, administer, and maintain storage systems to ensure appropriate capacity, redundancy, and data protection are in place
Engineer, administer, and maintain bare metal, VMs (VMWare, AWS and Azure)
Capacity planning, performance tuning and security administration
Develop proper monitoring metrics for deployed services
Integrate services (e.g. corporate IAM systems / Active directory to provide secure access)
Lead or co-lead systems engineering projects
Manage tasks, projects, and plans for a small team
Participate in day-to-day support activities
Ensure adherence to compliance requirements
Mentor junior team members
Skills We're Stoked About
Linux OS and services on bare-metal, VMWare and in the cloud (AWS, Azure etc).CentOS/RHEL, Ubuntu and some SuSe
Proven experience with deployment automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, SaltStack, or Jenkins
Demonstrated ability to develop automation tools
Experience with ticketing and project/change management tools such as JIRA or ServiceNOW
Demonstrated knowledge of common networking protocols and technologies as they relate to servers
Ability to write concise documentation at a technical level quickly and accurately
