As a Senior Operations Engineer at GoPro, you will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment to support our IT capability. The Systems Engineering Team works with cool tech, such as AWS and VMware, that undergirds GoPros corporate and customer-facing infrastructure. This role is responsible for physical and virtual servers, as well as on-site and cloud-based storage. We're looking for a team player who demonstrates creativity, adaptability, and a desire to learn.
Responsibilities
You will be part of a global team that provides Tier I and Tier II support during normal business hours.
Monitor key operational metrics for deployed applications and servicesand take appropriate action as needed.
Compute & Storage administration, troubleshooting and maintenance in the context of Availability, Security, Performance and Change.
Host OS administration, troubleshooting and maintenance on Bare Metal, VMs (VMWare, AWS and Azure) in the context of Availability, Security, Performance and Change.
Help drive continuous improvement by identifying structural issues to the Tier III team and participate in the resulting projects.
Be a key partner in all systems engineering related projects and initiatives.
Participate and ensure adherence to compliance requirements.
Be a mentor to others
Skills Were Stoked About
At least 5 year experience in a related role
Experience with monitoring and analytic tools like: PRTG, DataDog, Solarwinds, Netbrain, DCE and Splunk
Host OS and services on bare-metal, VMWare and in the cloud (AWS, Azure etc).
Experience with tools like Chef, Puppet, SaltStack, Jenkins etc
Experience with a ticketing and project/change management tools such as JIRA and ServiceNOW.
Demonstrated knowledge of common networking protocols and technologies as they relate to servers:
Ability to write concise documentation at a technical level quickly and accurately.
Ideal Product/technology Experience:
HP servers
VMWare, AWS, Azure
Windows, Linux and Redhat
NetApp, StorNext
Networking: DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, HTTP, HTTPS,etc.
Security: PaloAlto, ISE, Cisco Umbrella etc..
