Position GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate to take on the responsibilities of a PCB Layout Designer. This position will be responsible for consumer grade high density PCB board development within GoPro. The PCB Layout Designer will work closely with the Mechanical and Hardware teams to define physical and electrical requirements. In addition, this position will create component footprint symbols/library for GoPro hardware development. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work cross-functionally and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
PCB layout design on different core material substrate, component placement, impedance matching and routing analysis studies.
Work closely with cross functioning team such as electrical hardware, mechanical, program manager, sourcing, and operation team during product development phases.
Create PCB design package including Gerber files, fabrication drawings, and releasing to manufacturing database management system.
Maintaining libraries and PCB footprint corresponds design rules and manufacturing capabilities. Leading DFM reviews and closure to ensure design is ready for high volume manufacturing and comply with GoPro quality requirements.
Collaborate closely with vendors from volume manufacturing and fast prototyping vendors.
Continue improving layout design rules corresponds to manufacturing processes and machine capability. Ensure changes and information synchronization with PCB layout design rules and documentation.
Skills Were Stoked About
8+ years of relevant work experience with Circuit board layout design
Hands-on with HDI, FPC, RFPC board layout
Experienced with constraints, importing netlist
Flexible printed circuit materials knowledge is required.
Experienced with Allegro PCB Design, ORCAD Capture CIS
Hands-on with laying out high speed and impedance controlled compact multilayer PCBs.
Knowledgeable with routing BGA parts with 0.4 mm pitch and less.
Knowledge of Component Library management, Component footprint Creation necessary
DFM review and implementation, generating Gerber files and preparing packages for release
PCB manufacturing knowledge is a must
Able to work well individually or with teams supporting internal requirements
Good communication and reporting
