We are looking for a Principal Regulatory Compliance Engineer who has experience in the worldwide certification processes of consumer electronics. You will have a full understanding of wireless radio technology including Bluetooth and WiFi compliance as well as experience in driving product design for the applicable worldwide safety standards. You will engage with a diverse cross-functional team supporting the innovation of consumer products and work closely with the hardware engineering team to drive compliance testing and verification. You must be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative environment.
Drive global product certifications for new products working with third party labs and design partners
Collaborate with engineering development teams to perform RF compliance testing (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi) safety testing and EMC (EMI, ESD testing) and optimize results.
Coordinate compliance testing in accordance with applicable EN/IEC/UL regulatory standards including:safety standards (IEC 60950, IEC 62368, IEC/UL 62133, UL 2054/1642)
CE RF standards (EN 301 893, EN 300 440, EN 301 489, EN 300 328, EN 303413)
CE EMC standards (EN 55032/35, IEC 61000-4-2)
CE SAR standards, FCC subpart B &C regulations and related KDB procedures
Consult and coordinate with development teams and manufacturing partners/suppliers to ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations including ROHS, REACH, Prop 65, China GB, WEEE
Test production-level units to ensure in-production units continue to meet global certifications (FCC, CE, MIC, KC, SRRC, BSMI/NCC, ANATEL, NOM)
Provide status and updates to the executives, development leads, cross functional teams on hardware compliance status during each development phase
Extend expertise and support to the accessory teams to ensure all product safety, performance, and regulatory requirements are met
Work with suppliers and partners to draft the product-specific regulatory test requirements, monitor and update test status, and drive tests to completion
Track and research applicable requirements related to worldwide regulatory certification labeling. Ensure GoPros entire product lineup of cameras, mounts and accessories remain compliant with current regulations.
Provide cross-functional, cross-program guidance to ensure commonality and consistency between all programs markings, documentation, and packaging.

Ability to work independently; self-motivated with ability to drive projects, highly detail oriented.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar technical discipline, Master's degree preferred.
7 + years of EMI/ESD/Wifi/BT compliance testing, debugging experience, and submission experiences with consumer electronics core and accessory products to obtain global certifications.
7 + years of product safety submission experiences with consumer electronics core and accessory products.
Experience with ROHS, REACH, WEEE, Prop 65 and other environmental requirements and associated compliance testing and verifications
Experience working with the Asia Pacific based manufacturing partners
Must be able to write and edit technical documents clearly and concisely in English
Strong persuasion and negotiation skills, including conflict resolution skills
