The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager is a critical part of Camera Platforms. This individual is responsible for formulating, communicating, and executing a sourcing strategy relative to their, and their teams, respective commodities, which consists of the materials, supplies and components necessary to develop high-quality products for GoPro. The strategic sourcing manager leads supplier sourcing / selection activities, contract, pricing and successfully manages the supplier relationship to ensure that the supply chain is capable of delivering high quality, cost effective materials and components to support production requirements. The Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager has an important role in ensuring that their respective commodity meets the technical, pricing and schedule specifications necessary for GoPro to develop its products.
Responsibilities
Collaborate within the GoPro Materials, Supply chain and Test operations teams, Image quality team, Engineering team and Advanced technology team to develop a commodity strategy and technology roadmap that aligns technology and business requirements with supplier capabilities. This will include leveraging our current supply base as well as sourcing new and emerging suppliers.
Work closely with Engineering, Product Management and the Project Teams to define standard and custom product requirements within the optical supply base.
Work closely with Engineering to influence technical design decisions to meet technical capabilities, business objectives, costs and manufacturing considerations.
Responsible for AVL (Approved Vendors List) for commodity, supplier selection and qualification. Ensure a competitive sourcing environment leading to continuous improvement in quality, cost, delivery, service and technology.
Interface with cross-functional teams to assess current and future sourcing requirements. Responsible for quarterly executive business reviews of a strategic sourcing plan that defines, among other things, product roadmaps, supplier capabilities and annual / quarterly strategic business objectives.
Manage overall supplier relationships including supplier performance, supplier audits, capability development, cost and quality improvements.
Maintain personal knowledge of market trends including rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements.
Quarterly price review with the Supply Chain team, ODM/EMS & Suppliers to meet GoPro cost targets and quality objectives.
Define and track all improvement opportunities for business and technical requirements to drive the success of the GoPro supplier relationships Periodic travel to supplier's manufacturing sites, as well as quarterly visits to our EMS partners.
Support our OEM supplier initiatives including annual cost reductions, VMI/JIT, lead-time reductions, favorable payment terms, etc.
Skills Were Stoked About
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field 7+ years of experience in high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environment.
Direct experience in supplier / supply chain management.
Strong knowledge and deep understanding of Commodities used in consumer camera products.
Supply chain experience managing cross-functional teams in a consumer electronics product company.
Familiarity with world-class sourcing methods and tools.
Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
Highly proficient with Microsoft Outlook / Access / Excel Extensive negotiation experience with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction.
Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies.
