The Camera Sensor Engineer is responsible for delivering the eyes of our camera, and is thus a critically important position in our company. The Camera Sensor Engineer will work cross functionally with the entire engineering team to ensure a sound imaging architecture and flawless integration of imaging sensors into the camera product. For example, the engineer will work closely with product management to define features and specification requirements for future sensors, with the hardware engineering team to define operating modes for the camera, with the optics, image quality, and firmware teams to debug and optimize image sensor settings.

Responsibilities
Works with vendors to align their image sensor roadmaps to our roadmap needs
Provides features and specifications requirements for new image sensors, and works with vendors through the qualification of such new sensors
Evaluates and selects image sensors for each GoPro camera
Defines and creates image sensor configurations for each camera mode
Benchmarks image sensor performance through the product lifecycle
Works with the SOC team to define specifications and features for future image signal processors

Skills Were Stoked About
Bachelor/Graduate degree ina related engineering subject
5+ years of hands-on experience in CMOS image sensor applications, bring up, characterization, tuning, and debug
Ability to independently analyze and resolve issues
Proficiency in Matlab, C, Python
Knowledge of image processing algorithms
Strong communication skills with experience creating formal specification documents, and the ability to communicate cross-functionally
