GoPro is seeking a top tier Principal Thermal Engineer. As a Principal Thermal Engineer, youll ensure that our world-class products perform as expected in temperature extremes.Youll work side by side with our Designers and Engineers to help GoPro continue to push the envelope on whats possible for ruggedized, small form factor performance.
Responsibilities
Lead the team responsible for design, simulation, and validation of the thermal architecture of new products.
Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary cross-functional team to develop optimal product architectures to meet product requirements
Optimize thermal solutions using CFD simulation.
Perform structural FEA on features identified by the design team as high risk or highly influential to architectural direction.
Communicate power, thermal, and mechanical requirements to the team
Requirements
BSME required, MS Preferred
10+ years of experience in thermal analysis
Structural and Modal analysis and FEA simulation experience highly valued
Skilled in CFD analysis (FloTHERM, FloTHERM XT) with the ability to model complex systems efficiently
Knowledge of fluid dynamics and heat transfer theory
Extensive familiarity with the specification and application of passive and active thermal management hardware, including heat sinks, spreaders, TIMs, PCMs and heat pipes
Skilled in preparing and reviewing test plans; executing tests as well as supervise testing
