The person in this role will be responsible for building tools that enable continuous integration and deployment of code into GoPros cloud environment.
Cloud infrastructure engineers at GoPro use their in-depth knowledge of software methodologies to develop software tools and automation frameworks that enable the cloud engineering team to effectively deliver meaningful software efficiently. Cloud infrastructure engineers operate at the intersection of software development and systems engineering to solve operational problems and engineer solutions to design, build, and run large-scale distributed systems scalably, reliably, and efficiently. You will be tasked with collaborating with engineers to identify and resolve bottlenecks and complexities in infrastructure provisioning, deployment pipelines, and observability. Success is measured by the level of autonomy, security and increased throughput afforded to the engineering organization. This is a new initiative at GoPro. You will have the opportunity to define this function and have an immediate massive impact on our ability to deliver effective solutions for the business.
What You Will Do
Build, maintain and improve tools for infrastructure provisioning, continuous integration and continuous delivery
Own the deliverables from design to implementation and operation, working in two week sprints with continuous integration
Participate in cross-functional discussions with engineering, operations, and release groups to define and improve common tooling
Enhance and maintain our internal frameworks and tools to enable rapid development and deployment
Take ownership of projects that matter from technical design to implementation
Skills Were Stoked About
Competent in one or more object oriented programming languages such as Ruby, Go, Python
Container orchestration experience such as Amazon ECS or Kubernetes
Experience in distributed systems and microservice architectures
Experience with Amazon Web Services
Proficiency in using Git and software integration tools
Continuous Delivery (CD) / Continuous Integration (CI) pipeline experience
Bachelors in Computer Science from an accredited university, or equivalent work experience
Development experience in an Agile environment
Collaborative experience working with engineers
