Senior PCB Layout Designer will be responsible for consumer grade high density PCB board development within GoPro. The Senior PCB Layout Designer will work closely with the Mechanical and Hardware teams to deliver physical and electrical requirements. In addition, this position will review component footprint symbols/library together with San Mateo PCB layout engineers. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work cross-functionally and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
PCB layout design on different core material substrate, component placement, impedance matching and routing analysis studies.
Work closely with cross functioning team such as electrical hardware, mechanical, program manager, PCB commodity , and operation team during product development phases.
Create PCB design package including Gerber files, fabrication drawings, and releasing to manufacturing database management system.
Maintaining libraries and PCB footprint corresponds design rules and manufacturing capabilities. Driving PCB DFM reviews and closure to ensure design is ready for high volume fabrication and comply with GoPro quality requirements.
Collaborate closely with vendors from volume manufacturing and fast prototyping vendors.
Continue improving layout design rules corresponds to manufacturing processes and machine capability. Ensure changes and information synchronization with PCB layout team at HQ San Mateo.
Skills Were Stoked About
Bachelor of science or degree in Electronics or equivalent
At least 8 years of experience in PCB layout design and development
Experience in ORCAD Capture CIS and Allegro.
Experience in cost effective and high density consumer electronics board development.
Experience in PCB layout design constraints for mixed signal, RF signal, high speed signal impedance control, memory interfaces, heat dissipation, and optimizing traces for better EMI performance.
Experience in designing layout and defining stack-up for various material such as FPC, Rigid FPC, FR4, and BT. Familiar with PCB fabrication process, SMT assembly machine capabilities and process.
Competent in reading schematics, generating netlists, and using schematic for layout and routing reference.
Ability to work crossfunctionally along with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Knowledge in environmental safety compliance will be added advantage.
Proven ability to work independently with little direction and multitask
