Aether launched in 2009 and has built its reputation on beautifully executed outdoor apparel. Aether offers both men’s and women’s collections, which include outerwear, lifestyle basics, and accessories; all of which are created with innovative engineering in mind. In addition to technical product, Aether has carefully carved out a special niche in the high-end market with an editorial website, unique retail presentations, high quality construction and a hands-on approach to customer service. In short, we strive to be special in everything we do.
We are looking for a designer who will facilitate, deepen and exalt the performance properties of Aether’s product. This person will need to have meticulous attention to detail as well as a professional attitude and entrepreneurial spirit. This position reports to the Senior Design Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:
* Work with the Senior Design Director to bring seasonal creative vision to life.
*Create presentations and visual tools for seasonal meetings and presentations.
*Research seasonal trends and innovations including silhouette, fabric, color, and trim.
* Collaborate with product development team members to identify and select fabrics and trims for development.
* Create and maintain highly detailed sketches for tech packs and presentations, illustrating the desired design and construction detail intent for each garment.
* Attend regular fit sessions and work with the technical design team to ensure fit intent meets customer expectations
*Meet all design and product development calendar deadlines.
* Mentor and guide the design team regarding technical outdoor apparel
* Partner with technical design and product development teams to execute design updates and revisions throughout development process.
