Job Description

Air+Style and Shaun White Enterprises is seeking a highly creative and thoughtful individual with experience building key creative for action sports, lifestyle & culture, live events, digital, and Omni-Channel brand campaigns.

As Art Director, you will join the team as a strategic and creative collaborator with the ability to develop and direct first-rate brand communications with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment. An ideal candidate is self-driven and a creative problem solver with the ability to effectively manage and execute a wide range of projects from concept to delivery. The Art Director will have a proven track record of successfully translating marketing and branding strategies into innovative campaigns that engage targeted audiences across various mediums. The Art Director will serve as a leader in the creative department and help in training and mentoring younger designers. He/She will also play a key leadership role in partnership with the marketing, content, digital, business development, and live event operations departments. This role will be instrumental in pushing forward company objectives and new business developments.

Key Responsibilities //
• Lead, ideate, develop, execute and manage an innovative, authentic, and “best in class” creative product that stays true to the core values of SWE.
• Ability to visually translate marketing and business objectives into creative and successful presentations.
• Manage the creative and visual direction, design, and production for advertising and collateral for various business initiatives, including research that aids in developing fresh creative ideas for advertising and promotional executions, learning new software and artistic techniques as the need arises, etc.
• Distill complex marketing and advertising challenges into a cohesive vision and oversee execution across multiple mediums, from online to broadcast and installation-based experiences, while maintain a cooperative team environment that promotes high performance standards and attainment of goals.
• Collaborate with Interactive and Content teams to communicate visual strategy.
• Supplies Global Marketing, Digital, Event Operations, and Business Development teams with completed creative assets.
• Manages and fulfills requests for art/photography from requesting parties.
• Complies with departmental approval processes before submitting for production.
• Develop needs assessment, scope of projects and cost models for creative services; hire and manage creative contractors / agencies as needed.
• Attract, recruit, mentor, and retain creative talent to produce innovative and sophisticated solutions.
• Ensure creative output, direction, performance is on track to meet company goals, standards, and timelines.

Job Requirements

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS //
• Experience in a creative role well versed in user-centered design methods and techniques. Visual design, copy writing, user experience, strong concept ability, and content strategy skills preferred. Creative agency experience is a plus.
• Degree in design-related discipline: Interaction, Information or Interface design; Design Planning; Graphic Design; Journalism, English or Communications; Marketing.
• Knowledge of current marketing methods, all forms of branded campaigns, promotion, advertising, and digital experiences.
• Experience in both live action direction and traditional /digital / motion design.
• Demonstrate the organizational ability to facilitate multitasking in a fast-paced environment and meet unpredictable deadlines.
• True collaborator who can work with across varied disciplines and with administrators and executive level management to manage projects.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Must be able to communicate creative concepts to both internal design team and clients.
• Aptitude to develop and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven client-facing role experience working with teams on large scale, long-term projects.
• Ability to gracefully handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Alignment to SWE’s vision and core values.

TECHNICAL SKILLS //
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Proficient in Adobe CC (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) is a must
• Experience in Fireworks, After Effects and photo editing is a plus
• Experience with photography, videography, and video editing is a plus
