The Roark Regional Retail Operations Manager is responsible for oversight of all retail operations, strategy implementation, and execution.

The position will ensure the overall success of the day to day retail division while maintaining a focus on process implementations / improvements and field operations optimization and execution. Additional responsibilities will include: regular store visits and retail personal oversight, assistance in store openings and the recruitment and development of retail management to ensure associate retention, client experience and sales goals are attained.

Essential Functions of The Position

Operations and Process
• Support and develop operational strategies and ensure a seamless integration between stores
• Support, refine and execute seasonal business strategies and in-store merchandising to support and maximize sales and marketing efforts
• Establish key benchmarks and performance measures to assess operational effectiveness
• Ensure budgets, expenses, and investments are met to achieve established financial targets
• Maximize retail sales and profitability
• Maintain and increase standards of customer service excellence
• Interpret and administer HR policies and procedures ensuring compliance is consistent between stores
• Execute quality inventory practices with receiving, restocking, transfers, management of inventory levels and discrepancies, with retail operations planner
• Utilize tools and software to maximize business metric measurements and the consumer experience
• Provide your team with comfortable, safe, and orderly working environment for each store's daily operation
• Work closely with Archipelago group to ensure a seamless and timely inventory transfer process

Communications
• Plan an active role in the communication among the Roark retail team in addition and with store managers, shift supervisors, and store associates
• Regular store visits to work with in-store retail team to ensure best processes and maximize efficiencies and profitability
• Lead store managers to maximize operational efficiency by improving the way our teams' function
• Refine existing and create new sales and operational store staff training program encompassing best in class customer service, operation, and sales techniques
• Seasonal training schedule for store staff ensuring product, marketing, merchandising, promotions, etc. are current
• Be responsible for the execution of operations and processes, providing leadership and delivering financial results at all retail stores
• Collaborate with VP of Sales and Roark team to insure a holistic approach is achieved with 3rd party and branded merchandise.
• Coordinate team building opportunities for store staff

Other Functions
• Other duties as assigned by VP of Sales and CEO
• Effectively collaborate cross departmentally between stores, vendors, and corporate staff
• Attend knowledge-based training to support increasing in store customer experiences
Position Requirements

• Excellent communication skills required by crossing over corporate departments, such as PLM, E-Commerce, DC, Marketing, and Sales
• Good analytical skills with budget, sales data, and expenses. Interpret channel P&L adapting business needs to ensure established goals are met
• Strong business management knowledge with sales/margin responsibility
• Leadership skills to keep store employees motivated, resolve conflicts and make hard decisions when necessary
• Ability to manage vendors and partners to run the store effectively and fast decision-making skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and multi-tasking environment
• Passion for customer service

Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• More than 5 years retail operations and/or corporate management in a multi store environment required
• Deep understanding of retail administration, store systems, and tools

Physical and Mental Requirements

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the essential job duties satisfactorily. The employee in this position must frequently exercise regular use of good judgment and be able to lead others and work with minimal supervision. Employee must be able to lift a box weighing 40 pounds on an infrequent basis.

Work Environment
• This position requires travel up to 50% (including store rounds) with the other 50% in an office setting located at our corporate office in Laguna Beach, CA.
