The selected candidate will work directly with the VP Sales with a two-pronged focus of Southern California sales & service representation for local wholesale accounts; and leading the charge for in-house custom sales. Job Description:

This full-time salaried + commission + benefits position is a true sales role that combines selling strategies from old-school stock-and-fill store visits, to more new-school CRM based sales and follow up techniques for our B2B division. This new position will office at Mizu’s Carlsbad CA headquarters, will include a fairly equal (50/50) time split between local road travel visiting clients and in-office follow up.

The local representative portion of this role will include the traditional responsibilities of a consumer brand sales representative including presenting new seasonal lines, obtaining pre-book orders, keeping track of sell-through, stock-and-fill reports, and the actual stocking and filling in some cases. Mizu’s pickup truck will be made available for in-territory visits and related events. This role also includes building, managing and maintaining strong/direct relationships with retail buyers, coming up with cross-promotions, and growing Mizu’s retailer base within the territory.

The in-house sales portion of this role will be focused on Mizu’s fast growing customization business where retailers and brands customize Mizu products with their artwork. This role is still very sales and service oriented but is quite a bit different than the traditional local sales role stated above. This role includes following up sales inquiries of custom projects, gathering the required information to provide estimates, and closing sales.


Candidate Requirements:

• Sales Skills & Experience – Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience of shop visits, shop clinics, product line presentations, retail merchandising, territory management, and traditional sales and service on site calls. Finely-honed skills in the art of selling with a proven track record of sales growth success. Able to develop an effective sales plan and generate new leads, knowledge of the ASI/PPAI business a plus.
• Communication – A highly advanced level of written and verbal communication skills, prompt with responses to clients and able to communicate effectively with Mizu HQ about customer needs, local trends and product feedback - strong organizational skills a must. Ability to brainstorm with Mizu’s Marketing team with ideas on how to increase brand awareness and increase demand.

• Passion –Mizu seeks someone with a built-in passion for not only our high-end reusable and customizable products, and the environmental mission we’re on to help reduce single-use waste, but also a passion for the brand and culture in which we operate.

• Work Ethic – This role requires a friendly, professional, outgoing, self-motivated person with an even stronger work ethic. A real team player, ability to roll up the sleeves and do whatever it takes, whether it’s in the job description or not.

Compensation:

Compensation will be a base salary + commission and is dependent upon experience. It will include participation in Mizu’s employee healthcare plan and Mizu’s Employee Stock Option plan.
