GENERAL SUMMARY:
Catalyst Creative is looking for a full-time Technical Design assistant. Candidates must be very organized, self-motivated, detail orientated, have excellent written/oral communication skills and a POSITIVE attitude. The role is to assist the Senior Technical Designer in daily tasks including but not limited to; measuring garments with provided spec pages, assist in fittings, and send fit comments to overseas vendors.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
• Measure garments that come into the department proto, pre-production and TOP
• Review fits with Sr. Technical Designer, photograph samples and make fit call outs
• Write and send comments to overseas
• Sit in handover meetings between design, development and technical design
• Review garment construction, and compare to the tech pack as needed
• Clear communication internally and with factories abroad
• Work closely with development and production to maintain timelines
• Assist with development specs when needed
• Maintain running list of samples coming into the department
• Help maintain pattern and sample library
Job Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Degree and 1-2 years’ experience in: garment construction, pattern making or technical design
• Understanding of points of measure, garment construction, fit
• Knowledge of Illustrator
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, how to build a spreadsheet with formulas for calculation spec difference. Including understanding of specs and grading
• Experience working with overseas factories for sample development is a plus
• Must be positive, a critical thinker, organized, a team player, very detail oriented and a fast learner
