Your Job:

The Bra Pattern Engineer owns all patterns, from first prototype through to production size set, ensuring the timely development and commercialization of the global line. Working with our factories to ensure alignment on pattern requirements, specific design and performance features included within the pattern shape and grade. Working ahead of the season to align on the blocks and communicating this with our manufacturing partners, you will play a critical role in the development process from design concept through commercialization. Utilizing their extensive grading knowledge, you will guide the development team on the most effective pattern changes and grading methods to ensure consistency and provide a commercial, while identifiable, Brooks fit. You will partner with Bra Developers to set fit standards, support fit sessions, and provide fit recommendations and solutions. Solving manufacturing/prototyping issues and ensuring the fit of the line is consistent for the Brooks consumer, you work closely with the Development Team, to make informed decisions regarding pattern development and grading to ensure the most successful, commercial outcome from production.

Your Responsibilities:
! Build and maintain Point of Measure library, measurements, and graded templates in Flex Product Management System and work with team on its successful implementation.
! Utilize advanced technical garment construction skills and experience to provide feedback during fit, the materials selection process and testing review.
! Develop first patterns and execute pattern corrections to achieve the best fit and performance in line with the design requirements
! Commercially grade patterns and provide accurate production patterns and specs to the factory.
! Utilize fit instruments and standards to make recommendations and updates to the brand specific grade rules ensuring the most effective fit and performance with consistency across the line.
! Work closely with the Bra Developers in fit sessions and provide direction on how to correct patterns to achieve desired fit.
! Problem solves fit issues, understanding the upstream/downstream affect and partnering with the bra developers to execute workable solutions.
! Partner with PLM, Design and Development Team (Triad) to evaluate the design and technical direction, and problem solve to provide workable solutions, ensure consistency in standards, fit and technical integrity of the bra line.
! Understand production and make recommendations on construction based on machinary and assembly knowledge and how they affect time and cost.
! Participate in International and Domestic development trips to work with manufacturers and suppliers to set clear fit standards and ensure Brooks partners are utilizing Brooks approved blocks and grading methods.

Your Qualifications:
! Bachelor’s degree in Apparel or related field required; may be substituted with relevant experience
! 5+ years of patternmaking and grading experience, with an emphasis on speed and accuracy within Apparel field, preferably lingerie/swim/sports categories.
! Experience with molding; selecting and developing cup size and shapes for an inclusive fit.
! Experience with large size ranges.
! Strong knowledge of patternmaking and fit fundamentals.
! Knowledge of body shapes and how shape affects fit to better inform pattern development.
! Knowledge of product development.
! Computer literacy required with proficiency in MS Excel, Adobe Illustrator, and working knowledge of pattern software; Optitex preferred
! Prior working knowledge of using 3D software in pattern, component, and design development – Optitex and/or Browzwear preferred.
! Strong problem-solving skills.
! Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication.
! Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company
! Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products, or other departments’ operations and/or morale; “connecting the dots.”
