Your Job:

As Manager, Event Marketing, you will motivate, inspire, and spread Run Happy to runners across the US. You will manage the US Event Marketing Team ensuring we are thought leaders within our industry and showcasing the brand to all who run in a compelling way. You will own, develop and provide global strategic insight around event strategy to the Marketing Leadership team by identifying and partnering with key events and activations that advance our brand and business goals. You will obsess about the runner and where and when they run and lead the team in finding new and innovative ways to reach them and convert them into Brooks. The Manager, Event Marketing role will lead, and effectively manage a team that travels 60% of the year, while you will travel 40% of the year.

Responsibilities:
! Create and lead the execution of the Event Strategy for North America and drive the global event strategy by providing guidance to the other regions on the developing their strategies to ensure global alignment yet accommodating for regional differences.
! Develop, own and manage the Events budget. This includes planning and execution of expenses while ensuring activations align with event and brand strategy.
! Lead the Event apparel business triad between Event Marketing, Apparel Merchandising and Operations and sales throughout the full product lifecycle from item creation to sell in, to seasonal management etc. Act as key point of communication with event partners and drive internal meetings/process.
! Oversee event order management processes to ensure product inventory meets the projected needs at all events.
! Lead cross functional teams on the product creation for Marine Corps Marathon and the annual Berkshire Hathaway shareholders’ event. This includes collaboration on all product needs, forecast and inventory fulfillment to retail sales at the events.
! Act as the liaison between Brooks and external agencies to ensure seamless execution and on-target branding for event activations.
! Direct and oversee Brooks’ presence at all events (sponsored and key trade events and sports medicine trade shows)– including the booth layout, product sales, sufficient trained staff, product orders (official merchandise and in-line). At owned events (MCM, Berkshire, Pop Up, Mobile tour) responsible for the entire runner experience from booth set up, merchandising, branding, POS, staffing, etc.
! Oversee Brooks’ sponsorship programs by maintaining contractual agreements and evaluating sponsorships annually. Drive the negotiation of existing contracts, identifying terms, and collaborating with Legal department.
! Evaluate opportunities proposed to Brooks for race events. Identify opportunities that best align with our strategy and provide recommendations to Marketing leadership.
! Track event sales and analyze results to ensure that business objectives are met. Identify opportunities and implement changes that will drive growth.
! Continuously innovate and identify opportunities to streamline and automate our event activation processes and to leverage existing data and learnings for future events.
! Plan, manage, and execute consumer related promotions at National Events.
! Lead, manage, coach and mentor the Events Marketing team. Promote career development and manage the performance of the team using Brooks HR processes.
! Lead and drive key cross functional projects that increase brand awareness and drive sales.

Qualifications:
! Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or related field or equivalent education and/or experience.
! 7+ years of experience in marketing, events, or retail within an athletic environment
! 3+ years management experience preferred including hiring, effectively directing the work of staff, coaching, development and managing performance.
! Excellent verbal and written communication skills, demonstrating effective listening through concise, clear verbal and written communication.
! Excellent interpersonal skills that inspire and build trust resulting in effective working relationships across the company.
! Keen attention to detail in planning, organization and execution of tasks, while still seeing the big picture and understanding how all of the pieces fit together and affect one another.
! Ability to anticipate how a decision made can affect our customers, our partners, our products or other departments’ operations and/or morale; “connecting the dots.”
! Demonstration of innovation and initiative – always looking at improving our products and processes while also displaying a willingness to dive into the details and help out wherever necessary.
! Passionate participation in Brooks’ sports activities a plus, overridden by the ability to understand and empathize with the runner in order to develop loyal, engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community.
! Experienced in managing budgets
! Travel 40% of the year within North America
