Your Job We are looking for a service minded professional to join our team and to support the safe and effective operations in the Indianapolis Distribution Center. Your primary focus includes maintaining equipment and ensuring building maintenance and safety operations meet guidelines. You report directly to the DC Facilities Manager and have responsibility for the maintenance and safety of a 400k sq. foot facility. Your Responsibilities -Responsible for the completion of all tasks with minimum supervision as directed by the DC Facilities Manager. - Performs pro-active inspections of property and identifies and corrects findings - Performs regular tours of site with members of the DC leadership team to help identify potential problems in specific areas of responsibility including site maintenance, janitorial, physical building and preventative maintenance - Responsible for following Brooks guidelines regarding general safety and maintenance practices - Responsible for protecting and improving the safety and operators for all functions within the distribution center - Ensure building machinery and systems meet or exceed their rated life. - Understands and remains current with codes, laws and regulations pertaining to the operation - Inspects property on a regular basis and notifies responsible parties of deficiencies or items requiring attention - Responds to weather related circumstances, which may typically require the removal of snow/ice, debris, etc. - Completes all minor repairs and maintenance of doors, windows, railings, ceiling tile, etc. - Completes Maintenance Request Forms and maintenance records accurately and timely - Conducts preventative maintenance functions according to scheduled maintenance program - Checks operations of the fire life safety equipment, smoke detectors, Co2 detectors, emergency lighting, etc. - Assembles all tools, supplies and instruments necessary to complete work assigned - Performs all work with a minimum of disruption and supervision and conducts immediate clean up of work area - Reports any impending supply of material shortages to the Facilities Manager - Complies with all company policies and procedures - Start the air compressor and purge condensation on a regular basis - Perform daily walk throughs and making any minor adjustments as needed (align photo eyes, track belts, clean debris off the system, make sure all the scanners are working, cleaning the case sealers) and noting issues that need to be addressed during operational downtime - Perform any emergency repairs and maintain spare parts inventory / replacement parts - Perform any office repairs as needed. I.e. fixing toilets, changing lights, etc... - Other duties as assigned Qualifications • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • 2+ years general maintenance experience, required • Broad mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry knowledge and experience, required • Computer proficiency: MS Office Suite, Outlook and internet, required • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with adverse situations positively. • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization, Be a team player. • Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse • Forklift experience, required • Maintain a good attendance record • Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time – up to 8 hours/day • Ability to lift 30 lbs., frequently and 50 lbs. on occasion, and 70 lbs. seldomly, required • Passionate participation in Brooks’ sports activities a plus, overridden by the ability to understand and empathize with the runner to develop loyal, engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community. • Embraces and lives the Brooks values!
