We are looking for a service minded professional to join our team and support the safe and effective operation of our 400+k square foot Indianapolis Area Distribution Center. This individual will coordinate the daily maintenance schedule. Your primary focus includes maintaining and repairing conveyor system equipment as well as ensuring that building maintenance and safety operations meet Brooks standards. This role is critical to providing our team with safe and reliable equipment to ensure our operation is running at is highest level of performance. You report directly to the DC Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities
! Contribute to protecting and improving the safety and operations for all functions within the distribution center.
! Ensure building systems (i.e. conveyors, diverts, sorters, etc.) are up to date and functioning at optimal level by performing necessary maintenance and inspections.
! Collaborate with Facilities Manager to design ongoing maintenance program and schedules for building systems and equipment.
! Complete all maintenance in a timely manner, as well as documenting and recording work performed accurately.
! Contribute to the development of preventive maintenance plans, operational plans, lockout/tagout and operational best practices.
! Ensure air compressor is tested and purged of any condensation on a regular basis.
! Perform daily walk-through on conveyor system and make any minor adjustments as needed (i.e. align photo eyes, track belts, clean debris off the system, make sure all the scanners are working, cleaning the case sealers, etc.). Note any issues needing to be addressed during operational downtime.
! Perform emergency repairs along with any building repairs & maintenance as needed (i.e. fixing toilets, changing lights, door adjustments, etc...).
! Maintain inventory of all tools, supplies, and instruments necessary to sustain facility at optimal levels and provide recommendations on designated inventory levels.
! Manage material handling equipment (MHE), inventory of critical spare parts, stocking levels and notify DC Facilities Manager of impending shortages.
! Strong understanding of local, state, and federal building codes, laws and regulations pertaining to the operation.
! Take appropriate measures to respond to weather related circumstances, which may typically require the removal of snow/ice, debris, etc.
! Work with DC Facilities Manager & Landlord on all life-safety system testing and site inspections.
! Perform regular tours of site and identify potential problems in specific areas of responsibility including site maintenance, janitorial, physical building and preventative maintenance, Recommend corrective actions to Facilities Manager.
! Responsible for following, promoting and contributing to ongoing updates to Brooks policies regarding safety and maintenance practices.
! Train, coach, and mentor Facilities Technician.
! Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
! High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
! 5+ years maintenance experience, required,
! Broad experience maintaining and repairing complex conveyor systems with associated MHE.
! Knowledge of automation, logic and controls is essential.
! Mechanical & HVAC, electrical, plumbing and carpentry knowledge and experience required.
! Forklift and related equipment maintenance experience required.
! Ability to work autonomously and complete all tasks with minimum supervision as directed by the DC Facilities Manager.
! Candidate must have strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
! Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to deal with adverse situations positively.
! Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of the organization, by being a team player.
! Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse.
! Computer proficiency: MS Office Suite, Outlook and internet required.
! Ability to work nights/weekends as needs dictate.
! Maintain a good attendance record.
! Must be able to stand and/or walk for long periods of time – up to 8 hours/day.
! Ability to lift 30 lbs., frequently and 50 lbs. on occasionally, and 70 lbs. seldomly required.
! Complies with and promotes all company policies and procedures.
! Passionate participation in Brooks’ sports activities a plus, overridden by the ability to understand and empathize with the runner to develop loyal engaging relationships with our customers and the Brooks community.
